Percept rebranded Sharks FC with a bold, modern identity that honours our heritage and future.

Working with Percept Brand Design on our rebrand was an outstanding experience from start to finish. They took the time to deeply understand our club’s history, our community, and our ambitions, and translated that into a brand identity that feels both authentic and forward-looking. The process was collaborative and professional, with clear communication and a structured approach that ensured we always felt engaged and confident in the direction. The final outcome, a complete new visual identity and brand system, not only unifies the way our club presents itself but also energises our players, fans, and sponsors. The reaction from the community has been overwhelmingly positive, with the rebrand already helping us build stronger connections and a renewed sense of pride in Sutherland Sharks FC.

Describe your project in brief

Percept was hired to perform a comprehensive rebrand and creative rollout for Sutherland Sharks Football Club. This included helping articulate the clubs vision an values, identifying their core audience and delivering a creative strategy of the highest quality.

What is it about the company that you appreciate the most?

Their ability to distil the essence of our club into a design system that feels timeless yet modern was the highlight. They balanced creativity with strategic thinking, and their professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to detail gave us complete confidence in the process. The end product has had a tangible impact on how we are perceived.

What was it about the company that you didn't like which they should do better?

The project timeline was tight given the scale of the rebrand, and at times it felt like we were moving very quickly through key stages. While the final result is excellent, a little more time for internal reflection at each stage would have been helpful, but given the timeline that was largely unrealistic.

Searching for a brand designer, Stray to Stay selected Percept to create the brand identity for their not-for-profit organisation in Far North Queensland that rescues and re-homes pets in need.

Brand designerPercept, worked in close partnership with Stray to Stay to gain deep insight into the challenges and opportunities the organisation was experiencing. Community-led and volunteer-run, they rescue abandoned and at-risk animals, and have earned the trust of their community through genuine, heartfelt work. However, their existing brand identity failed to capture the true depth of the impact, clarity of purpose, or the strength of their vision for change.

At the heart of the brand identity, Percept created a custom wordmark that embodies transformation. The curved letterforms of Stray to Stay
capture the journey each animal makes — from uncertainty to belonging.

Within the logo, the letter ‘A’ evokes the shape of a home: a safe space, a new beginning, and a symbol of trust. Together, these elements form a brandmark that not only stands strong on its own but also subtly resembles an animal’s face, deepening the emotional connection around the pet re-homing process.
