Often the hardest part of job hunting is getting across just how valuable a commodity you are.  Like any other product, you need to distinctly brand and market yourself so that prospective employers see what a valuable asset you are.

Nike, Apple, and Coca Cola produce terrific products; but at the end of the day, it is their branding and marketing that cause them to dominate in their sectors. Selling yourself to a prospective employer is no different.
