Sharepoint gives you access to everything with which you can design your internet website or a collaborative intranet and so on. It is not just like the other software like Excel or Word, but it depends upon the user or a company, how they will be using it and for what reasons, it may be designing an application or maybe a process flow or it can be collaboration portals for the teams working remotely or in the office.
