Akron Enrichment Center

The Akron Enrichment Center, previous the Washington County Nursing Home, has been purchased by Akron Real Estate Ventures LLC and is being converted into a mixed-use community and business center. The purpose of this project is to stimulate economic development and growth in Akron and provide community members with a place to learn, grow, and enrich their lives. The southeast wing of the facility will have six rooms available for free or at low costs for community classes and activities. Spaces will be available for use by those interested in teaching classes based off of community interest. A community garden and seed bank will be created in the courtyard area on the property. Housing opportunities will also be available within the building. Renovations and construction will begin in Fall of 2017 and is projected to be completed in Spring 2018. Information regarding the progress of our project will be updated on this website. We look forward to bettering our community and opening new doors and opportunities for our fellow community members.
