Business & Professional Exchange, Inc. (BPE) was established in October 1976 by Joan M. Shaw to fulfill the need of a 24 Hour Telephone Answering Service need for businesses and professionals located in Melrose, MA.

• BPE began operations on January 28, 1977 as Melrose Answering Service in Melrose, MA with just a single 557B PBX Telephone Switchboard, servicing six clients.
• BPE has relocated twice in its 40 plus year history. We moved to 414 Main Street, Melrose on January 28, 1982, and on August 11, 1999 relocated to our current facility located at 100 Cummings Center Suite 344C, Beverly, MA.
• We now operate a 50-position state of the art call center, serving over 1200 subscribers primarily located in Eastern Massachusetts, Southern New Hampshire and Northern Rhode Island. During the Summer of 2006, we expanded our service area to include companies nation wide.
• Originally, the company was primarily interested in serving the medical profession. However, we now provide Telephone Answering Services and messaging solutions for nearly every type of business, profession, and service company imaginable.
