Nickelodeon, a leading kids' entertainment brand, has a diverse global business focused on children. It offers captivating television programming, consumer products, digital experiences, attractions, publications, and feature films. Paramount proudly represents Nickelodeon as a brand synonymous with excellence in children's entertainment.

Overview

Nickelodeon introduces NickWatch, a smartwatch for kids featuring interactive experiences with favorite characters. Kids can enjoy endless fun and learning with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Spongebob, and Lincoln Loud. Safety is prioritized with Data Packs and a Caregiver App. Default Value built the online store as a Progressive Web App (PWA) for NickWatch.

Solution

The project was divided into three stages: website's planning, development, and testing. For the website's back-end solution, our team proposed using Magento, a comprehensive e-commerce platform capable of handling all business requirements. To ensure a seamless user experience, a Venia PWA front-end theme was used, leveraging modern web technologies and design patterns to offer speed, reliability, security, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility. The website is also inclusive and offers several accessibility profiles.

  • Seizure Safe Profile: clears flashes and reduces color;

  • Vision Impaired Profile: enhances website’s visuals;

  • ADHD Friendly Profile: gives more focus and fewer distractions;

  • Cognitive Disability Profile: assists with reading and focusing;

  • Keyboard Navigation (Motor): allows using the website with the keyboard;

  • Blind Users (Screen Reader): optimizes website for screen-readers.

Results

The PWA was chosen for nickwatch.com due to its offline capabilities. Nickelodeon was satisfied with our service. The website has creative solutions for children, such as animated characters. We delivered a swift and visually appealing product, operating in the UK and Israel, with plans to expand.

ProfitMetrics.io had an underdeveloped module on Magento1 that didn't meet the client's requirements. The company turned to us as specialists in Magento in February 2020. We conducted a technical review and brought the module on Magento 1 to release. Later, we developed a new module for Magento 2.

Challenge

The challenge in this project was the very feature of the ProfitMetrics tool: it has to track a lot of data on the front-end of an online store. It was quite complicated to set up a correct accounting of all incoming data so that the output data would be accurate and trustworthy. We worked closely with the client to get it right.

What did we do during the project?

1. Assessment and planning.

2. Development.

3. Quality assurance and bug fixing.

4. Delivery of the project to the client.

5. Further support.

Service we delivered:
Development of the Magento 1 & 2integration modules
Post-production support
Help to install the developed module at ProfitMetrics' clients
Module release on Magento marketplace

Results
In the course of the project, we developed integration modules on Magento 1 and 2 and released the module on the Magento marketplace. At the moment, we have been supporting the product for ProfitMetrics.io for three years. In addition, we assisted the company's clients in installing and using the developed module. Thanks to this integration, ProfitMetrics.io was able to reach new markets and audiences.

The customer found us through recommendations. The company had invested in a Magento 1 site for several years. Faced with the need for M1 to M2 migration and needed a team with more experience in Magento 2. It was requested to:

  • fully redesign the two sites (b2b and b2c)
  • migrate to Magento 2
  • preserve all the clients integrations and business processes.

It is worth mentioning that Magento 1 itself was highly customized, which made the project more complex. In essence, we had to create a new site with the accompanying migration of data, orders, customers, and products and set up a standard client business process on Magento 2.

Solution:
1. The project started with an analysis of the client's business needs and processes, during which we identified key areas of responsibility for our team.
2. We started developing the UX/UI design A standard flow in this part of the project, and we paid great attention to the mobile-first approach.
3. Data migration. We conducted a technical review of the project on Magento 1 and made a plan for migration to Magento 2. A considerable amount of data was transferred from the old client e-shop.
4. Ensure that the Magento Commerce migration went smoothly with no data loss and that it could be completed within a minimum downtime period. We reduced this period from 17 to 4 hours. Even native delta migration was a challenge because of the enormous amount of data. The number of orders and customer data was growing every day, but we managed to transfer all the data safely and securely.
5. Internationalization and integrations Our team also improved the quality of internationalization of the site and implemented a large number of integrations particularly with Clerk, Loop 54, Klaviyo, Quick Lizard, AltPay, Webshipper, Klarna, and Profitmetrics.

Summary
The project took almost a yearfrom September 2020 to August 2021. Our developers successfully transferred all client data from Magento 1 to Magento 2 and guaranteed uninterrupted shop operation.

The company trades medicinal herbs and supplements from Amazon, adhering to the concept of ethical consumptionnot harming the region while benefiting people.

Prerequisite
In 2013, a client from Raintree approached us with a request: we needed to develop a stable working store that would meet all the requirements of today's selective customers. Of course, this also required a complete redesign of the site, which took a pretty decent amount of time.

Solution

What are the main measures we took during the project?

  • Stabilization and optimization
  • Redesign
  • Support and updating of the system
  • Updating to Magento standards
  • Quality assurance and bug fixing
  • Handing over the project to the client

The project lasted a total of 6 years until the end of 2019. During this time, we not only updated the site to modern standards and redesigned it but also provided stable technical support to the client, conducting a large amount of optimization and improvement as Magento evolved.
After receiving the modern, up-to-date site, the client was delighted with our work and continued our cooperation until the suspension of Raintree.com.

Prerequisite:

  • Need Magento 2 website for retail
  • Design is needed.
  • Integration with the CRM system is needed.
  • Integration with external marketplaces is needed
  • Ukrainian banks' payments and loans should be integrated with the website
  • Postal service providers should be integrated.
  • Dropshipping is needed

We:

  • Prepared a totally new design for the project
  • Implemented custom integration with CRM system from scratch
  • Implemented custom integration with Ukrainian payment and postal providers from scratch
  • Developed the functionality for bonuses
  • Implemented multisite approach and added special site with other focus
  • ... and keep working

As it was completely new, we began with wireframes and design preparation. Then we planned the implementation of crucial website features. These were the integrations with the CRM system and Privatbank, one of the biggest banks in Ukraine, and Nova Poshta delivery service. After making this part of the functionality, we decided that native Magento functionality for configurable products should be changed in order for each configuration to have its own URL. It was needed for integration with external marketplaces.

The first phase of the project was completed by August 2020. We implemented a lot of other features since then like integration with Monobank, implementation of payment by installments feature for Monobank and Privatbank, custom functionality to import certain bonus points for different items and reward customers with them, integration with the service center of Maifon and the new site mob.com.ua which is specialized in accessories for mobiles phones, smartphones, and gadgets.

PayPlus is an Israeli payment service. The client was part of a company with which we had already cooperated for some time. So inspired by the recommendations of colleagues, he turned to us as experts in Magento to refine the integration moduleSmartPay Plus. His goal was to give the service customers the possibility to make payments through Magento, which the existing unfinished module didn't allow.

 Prerequisite
The client already had a module on Magento 1. However, it needed to be developed better, so the integration could have been more efficient. Some features didn't work, so the user experience wasn't smooth enough.

Although the project was very short, it had a couple of complications. First of all, it was the peculiarities of the integration of the payment systemit was necessary to ensure the most secure data transfer. In addition, all of the technical documentation was in Hebrew. So we had to translate all documents into English before starting the project.

Solution
What did such a short project consist of?

  • Investigation
  • Studying the documentation
  • Modifying and refining the module
  • Quality assurance
  • Project delivery

Results
So, in just one week, we were able to actualize the existing module to the modern standards of Magento, adapting it to the needs of the payment system. The client was completely satisfied, as he informed us personally.

The client turned to us with a request to adapt the Kosher4U site to modern standards and make a redesign. And Ari's Kosher Wine, in fact, needed to be "resuscitated." The site had been ordered from a third-party developer but had not been brought to release. The client wanted us to develop a new site from scratch and redesign it.

Challenge

In the case of Kosher4U, the main challenge was the specifics of the store. First of all, the client needed the store to shut down on the Sabbath, and no one could place an order before sunset on Saturday. This required a special timer to be installed.

The customer had an additional sub-store that specialized in products exclusively for Pesach, a major Jewish holiday. How it worked: the customer could switch from the main Kosher4U store to the Pesach store and place an order a month before the start of the holiday week. This could not be done at other times, and we needed to add a timer as well.

When you switched from the main Kosher4U store to the Pesach store, all kosher items remained in the cart. But if there were non-kosher products, just those were removed, and this feature only worked one way. If, on the other hand, the customer added items first in the Pesach store and then moved to the main site, the items remained untouched. We needed to design this feature carefully so that the customer would be warned about the products in their cart. This was necessary so that faithful customers would avoid accidentally buying non-kosher products forbidden on Pesach.

As for the difficulties at Ari's Kosher Wine, is that the site was on OpenCart.

The second difficulty was the peculiarities of wine packaging. The store sells wine in standardized boxes that hold a certain number of bottles, depending on the liter.

Solution

  • Stabilizing
  • Refinement
  • Redesign

Prerequisites:

  • Magento 2 website
  • retail and wholesale
  • when we were engaged the website was offline and a lot of issues needed to be fixed
  • A lot of SEO improvements needed
  • POS integrations needed
  • delivery services integrations needed
  • automation of the business processes was requested

Our team role:

We stepped into the project in April 2018 and continue to support it till now. The store was made on Magento 2 and was completely broken with some of the changes added to the Magento core. First of all, we stabilized the website and reviewed it to define critical errors. Then the migration of the data was done from old Magento 1 to Magento 2. After that, the main issues reported by the client were fixed and the Magento update was performed. A complex WebPOS functionality was improved and supported.

For the last years of working together, we implemented quite a lot of new features. Overall we spent more than 1800 hours on development.

..more than 100 modules are installed, and there are quite a lot of intersections between their functionalities..

Selwood Products is a manufacturer, wholesaler, and distributor of garden play equipment and outdoor toys designed for home build. Established in 2004, the company offers home delivery throughout the UK, Ireland, mainland Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.

The company's ready-to-assemble climbing frames are unique to Selwood and designed with value, safety, fun, and ease of installation in mind.

 Prerequisite

When Selwood Products came to us, they had multiple sites on Magento 1 and WordPress to work in each region. The data was patchy, and the design of the sites differed from each other. So we needed to unify everything.

 Challenge

First of all, we had to structure and reconfigure the entire online component of the Selwood Products business, which took a lot of time.

But the most exciting part was something completely different. The client had bought the Detailed Review module from us. What was it for? Let's say one product is available on several sites. And a satisfied customer leaves a review on one of them. This review needed to be automatically duplicated on the other sites where the same product exists.

Solution

What stages did the project consist of?

  • Investigation
  • Structuring Sites
  • Magento 1Magento 2 migration
  • Module configuration
  • Redesign
  • Support

Results

We didn't just bring the client's online stores to "order" and structure them. We also developed a brand book to unify the design of all Selwood sites.

In addition, we set up the Detailed Review module so that every time a review appeared, the system would check:

  • whether it was a new review
  • where it should be posted
  • whether the same product was on any other site
  • whether the same review is available under this item on other sites
  • and many other parameters

Developing a system that takes into account so many nuances was challenging and very time-consuming. But it has also brought us valuable new experiences!
Our team has developed a really strong relationship with Selwood Products.

Bannerheld had 4 stores on Magento 1 and needed to migrate to Magento 2, increasing the number by 100 sites. They also needed to develop a system for Bannerheld customers to upload their own images for printing.

A unique feature of this system was the ability for customers to customize image sizes and formats (or even create their own ones in the online editor) and place an order so that it would go straight to the press room.

The project immediately presented several challenges. First of all, it was quite a specific industry. We had to figure out how the system should work and how to implement our solution, taking into account all the needs of the client and his customers. The second challenge was the number of original sites, which were highly customized. Even the company itself didn't fully understand how exactly they worked. We needed to figure out the system and maintain the initial four sites throughout the entire development.

The old system needed migration to Magento 2

We conducted a technical review of the project on Magento 1 and made a plan for migration to Magento 2. A huge amount of data was transferred from the old e-shops.

In addition, Bannerheld had another goal to become a marketplace for other businesses that deal with printing products.

Using Magento 2, we developed a system that collects data from different online stores in one place, processes it, and sends it to the press room. We implemented all critically important and complex features within this part of the project. The finished system can also synchronize product and price data from external stores.

Based on different Magento versions, we developed a complex mechanism of working with prices that took into account all possible aspects of the orders: material, print type, size, etc. At the same time, the customer could place orders with different manufacturers at once, and our system automatically sent them notifications, allowing tracking of the status of each order.
