Goji Labs collaborated with Jugo to enhance its virtual collaboration platform, aiming to replicate the authenticity of in-person interactions within digital spaces. Recognizing the limitations of conventional video conferencing tools, Jugo sought to create immersive 3D environments that foster natural collaboration.

Goji Labs conducted a comprehensive UX/UI audit of Jugo's platform, analyzing user behaviors across various virtual workspaces. This assessment informed tailored recommendations to improve user engagement and interaction within the 3D environments.

To establish a cohesive visual theme, Goji Labs employed moodboards and storyboarding techniques. This approach facilitated the development of a consistent aesthetic that aligns with Jugo's vision of seamless and organic virtual collaboration.

The partnership resulted in a refined platform that bridges the gap between remote work and real-life interactions, offering users an engaging and intuitive virtual meeting experience.

Goji Labs partnered with Gaido to develop a mobile app aimed at transforming travel experiences by connecting users with authentic, local insights and personalized recommendations. Frustrated by the prevalence of generic, sponsored content in existing travel platforms, Gaido's founder, Jack, envisioned a solution that would spotlight hidden gems curated by knowledgeable local guides.

To bring this vision to life, Goji Labs conducted extensive qualitative user research and iterative design processes. They discovered that travelers valued the personal stories and backgrounds of local guides, which added credibility and depth to recommendations. In response, the app was designed to feature detailed guide profiles, allowing users to connect more meaningfully with the suggested experiences.

Monetization posed a challenge, as users had access to abundant free travel information. However, research indicated a demand for personalized travel planning. Goji Labs introduced a feature enabling users to virtually consult with local guides for tailored itineraries, enhancing user value and creating a viable revenue stream.

Initially, the team considered developing a comprehensive itinerary builder. User feedback, however, revealed a preference for flexible planning. Consequently, the app adopted a lightweight approach, allowing users to save favorite spots and receive personalized suggestions without rigid scheduling.

The final product, available on iOS and Android, offers a seamless interface that fosters authentic exploration through local expertise and personalized guidance. This approach not only differentiates Gaido in the travel app market but also aligns with modern travelers' desires for genuine, customizable experiences.

Goji Labs partnered with k-ID to develop the first cross-platform, tokenized child safety verification platform, addressing the growing need for secure online experiences for children. With increasing regulations requiring age verification in digital spaces, k-ID aimed to provide a solution that balances compliance, user experience, and safety.

The platform enables seamless onboarding by allowing parents to authenticate their children's access to online games and platforms. Once verified, children can engage with digital content without repeated interruptions, while developers can focus on creating engaging experiences without compromising on compliance.

Goji Labs conducted extensive UX research and strategic planning, developing a comprehensive Product Requirement Document (PRD) and low-fidelity designs to ensure a user-friendly experience. The system was engineered to handle up to 50,000 verifications per minute, targeting scalability for up to 100 million monthly users.

Within a year of launch, k-ID secured $51 million in funding and established partnerships with major companies like Google, Roblox, and Netflix. The platform was also showcased at the World Economic Forum, highlighting its impact on digital youth safety.

This collaboration between Goji Labs and k-ID set a new standard for child safety in the digital age, combining robust technology with user-centric design to protect young users online.

The Process

8 Unmoderated Usability Tests (UT) with usertesting.com: We were approaching the project with a pretty big blind spot into the issues our users could be facing on PredictionStrikes site, so we leaned in to usability to get honest insights from behavior (rather than surveys.)

User Segmentation: through testing, we segmented our user groups by young males who were self-described sports fans. We tested our target users through a scavenger hunt research method of sending users on a task and having them think out loud as they attempted to complete the tasks, supplemented by asking feedback questions.

Surveys: to learn more general information about our users. We asked what other sports betting platforms our target users used, frequency of PredictionStrike usage, and which sports they favored (among other questions.)

Competitive Research: We divided into competitive research into two basic concepts. We wanted to encompass both the world of sports so apps like fantasy football and the world of stocks and alternative assets such as Robinhood, Coinbase, etc.

Goji Labs partnered with VibeUp to develop a personal wellness app aimed at helping users build healthy habits, enhance emotional well-being, and foster meaningful community connections. The collaboration focused on creating a platform that offers personalized content, daily engagement features, and a supportive environment for personal growth.

Support for Brands and Creators: The platform also provides opportunities for businesses and content creators to promote services, courses, or events to a targeted, wellness-focused audience.

By integrating personalized content, daily engagement mechanisms, and community features, VibeUp offers a holistic approach to personal wellness, making it easier for users to embark on and maintain their wellness journeys.

Building on an evidence-based recovery approach

The MindShift team came to us with the work of a noted psychiatrist and a desire to create a digital experience using the evidence-based approach hed created. The approach was unique in that it can work in conjunction with other recovery methods and has a heavy emphasis on changing behaviors.

Our goal was to help discover what this experience might look like when translated into a digital product. We got to work immediately on whiteboarding workshops with their team to start understanding their goals, their recovery methodology, the people in recovery, and what a minimum viable product might look like.

Goji Labs collaborated with Pocket to develop a comprehensive real estate transaction platform aimed at simplifying the home buying and selling process by eliminating traditional intermediaries.

Challenges Addressed:

Automated Listings: The platform streamlines property listings by automating data collection and managing staging, photography, and 3D mapping.

User-Centric Design: Through workshops and user interviews, Goji Labs crafted a lightweight, intuitive interface using neutral color schemes and minimal interactions to enhance user experience.

Iterative Development: Low-fidelity designs were employed to iteratively refine complex user flows, particularly the bidding process, ensuring clarity at each stage.

Atomic Design System: By adopting Atomic Design principles, reusable components were created, enhancing consistency and efficiency across the platform.

Seamless Transactions: Integration with CoreLogics APIs provided real-time data on demographics, crime, and schools. Post-auction, the platform automatically generates purchase and sale agreements, streamlining the closing process without the need for intermediaries.

The resulting platform offers a streamlined, transparent, and user-friendly experience, redefining the real estate transaction process for both buyers and sellers.

Redesigning a life-saving medical database

Over the past year, MPP decided to revamp their site to improve the user experience and bring the interface up to date. To get started, we conducted a UX audit to identify any easy-to-fix usability issues that we could quickly redesign.

Since we didnt have much information about how users were interacting with the site, we also conducted interviews with people from various organizations. We found that users appreciated the minimalistic design, but wanted more clarity in the table presentation and some improvements to the search bar and reporting tools.

In the redesign, we made the data table more visually appealing by adding some whitespace around the cells and tags for key information. We also added a saved search feature to allow users to easily return to their previous searches, as they mentioned they frequently check back for updates on their queries.

Giving basketball the Peloton treatment
Our stakeholders at Huupe approached us with a prototype and specs for their exciting new smart basketball hoop. The Huupe features a digital screen on its backboard and a camera with a lidar system mounted above. The design is not just for shooting hoops, but for revolutionizing the way players practice and interact with the game of basketball.

The goal with Huupe was to eventually have a device and companion app that let you free-shoot, train, compete, play with another player across the planet, and even stream any content you wanted while hanging out on the court.
