Excellent VR/AR/mobile dev/animation/multimedia partner
This was an important assignment for us so getting the right partner to augment our abilities was imperative. Things couldn't have gone better. Our VR experience on behalf of the client at a critical tradeshow for them drew nearly 2000 people into the exhibit and compelled them to explore other parts of it as well. Groove Jones’ philosophy of transparency and collaboration as well as their deep level of engagement regardless of the size of the client makes them stand out in the industry. They are highly communicative and bring a sense of confidence in all aspects — deadline, budget, outcome.

Below is an overview of the variety of interactions and modules developed for the training SIM.
- Cylinder Sleeve – A connecting rod broke causing the piston to score the cylinder wall. The user will bore out the cylinder to accommodate a sleeve of proper dimensions. Once complete, the user must apply the correct product on the sleeve to accommodate for the gap and heat requirements of the engine.
- Adjust Rocker Arm – Vehicle operators have heard tapping coming from the rocker arms. The user must retorque and use the proper product to prevent them from loosening in the future.
- Fix and Reattach Loose Body Trim – There is a piece of the bumper lip that has cracked. It is made out of carbon fiber, so the user must repair the damage using a product to fill in the gap and then reattach it to the vehicle.
- Fix Oil Leak Around Oil Pan – There is an oil leak coming from the pan. The user must drop the pan, clean away the remaining gasket, and apply to the circumference.
- Fix Leaking Break Lines Due to Corrosion and Replace with New Brake Line – A repair is needed as a result of a leaking brake line due to corrosion. This must be replaced. The user must find apply the correct product and properly seal all fittings on the new brake line to prevent future leaks.
- Replace Muffler – It appears the bolts on the exhaust coupling have rusted and cannot be removed by standard measures. Before the repair can be completed, the user must use Freeze and Release to loosen the bolts for removal. Since the previous installation of the bolts failed to use a lubricant to protect the assembly from rusting, the user must use the proper product to prevent this in the future before reattaching.
Products Used in the Experience
- General purpose threadlocker of medium bond strength. This threadlocker secures and seal bolts, nuts, and studs to prevent loosening due to vibration. The product works on all metals, including passive substrates such as stainless steel, aluminum and plated surfaces.
- Dual cure, acrylic dimethacrylate ester fluorescent threadlocker designed for the permanent locking and sealing of threaded fasteners.
- Flexible, gasketing material for use on rigid machined flanges
- High strength and high temperature resistant retaining compound.
- Very high strength fast cure retaining compound that is a high strength, high viscosity room temperature curing adhesive used to join fitted cylindrical parts.
- Cyanoacrylate adhesive is compatible with leather, paper, plastic, rubber and wood material
- Hhybrid ultra-fast adhesive is a two-component versatile instant adhesive that bonds together plastics, rubbers, and metals.
- Silicone sealant and cures on exposure to moisture in the air to form a tough rubber gasket.

VR Recruitment App for AT&T – The AT&T HUB
AT&T has numerous development programs they use for recruitment purposes. In order to showcase and inform potential candidates about these programs, AT&T has created videos to tell each story. Groove Jones has been working with the AT&T College Recruiting team on the creation of several videos, which have been developed for VR (virtual reality) and shot in 360º.
The AT&T College Recruiting team uses these 360º videos at events around the US: career fairs, information sessions, and other campus recruitment events.
They wanted to create a VR application to combine these videos into a single virtual theater allowing students to interact with and view the content that most interests them.
Content is also accessible via the web so users can view online via a desktop or mobile device.
The AT&T VR HUB
The AT&T College Recruitment VR App serves as a hub to all of the rich video content that has been created. The individual video experiences can be launched via various controls within an AT&T branded world.
Included in the VR application are multiple 360º videos shot by Groove Jones featuring “Day in the Life” experiences at various locations within AT&T.
The experience helps the viewer see what life is like working at AT&T and allows them to step into the different locations and meet some of the people that work there.
We also incorporated several existing 2D videos including the Leadership Development Program, the Finance Leadership Development Program & locational videos for the Technology Development Program. These 2D videos help highlight the culture of working at AT&T with key messaging from teams around the country.
Development Programs highlighted in the App.
- B2B Sales Development Program
- Finance Leadership Development Program
- Technology Development Program

Taking design cues from the new Discovery District at the AT&T headquarters in downtown Dallas, Groove Jones designed an interactive video hub environment for users to explore and watch videos.
In this super futuristic hub environment, users can select one of the many videos to play simply by gazing at the play icon. Included in the environment are some “Easter egg” interactive elements that display AT&T’s 8 value pillars.
AT&T Locations Map
Inside the Technology Development Program, the experience is an interactive map of all the hub locations candidates can be placed. By looking at a location the viewer can launch videos from that location.
Each local team created a video to highlight their unique culture and work environment.
