Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the company?
JSbot is a digital studio known for web and mobile application development. We at JSbot believe in the product culture as we’re the product mindset people, so our clients believe in our quality. We encourage startups by giving a cost-effective solution which is easily scalable by keeping the future scope in mind at the time of architect and help the enterprise to solve their business problem with the latest cutting-edge technology.
I play as a co-founder and COO at JSbot, and I’m taking care of overall operation in the Jsbot.
What was the idea behind starting this organization?
The idea at the time of starting JSbot was `Bring the solution by Leveraging the power of rich technology,` Our original motto was to give an expert solution in product development. We have been working with many startups and found the many problem statements in the technical part; accordingly, we have established related processes to overcome those problems.
We have the expertise in today’s technology like JS stacks, MERN, Python, BrowserExtension, Wiring up Desktop, Web and Mobile app within a single stack to cut down the cost, and we were emerging in AI, ML and NLP also. We had decided to leverage the benefit of this to transform our knowledge into the vision, and JSbot took birth in the world.
What is your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
We have the expertise in-house team for engineering, sales & marketing, On-demand, we also bring the expertise of sales, marketing & branding by outsourcing it. We are partnered with some agencies also to use their knowledge as a technology partner.
We are now working on two strategies-
1. Build in-house products which can make people's life more accessible.
2. Help our clients to build their desired products to solve the real-time problem.
How is your business model beneficial from a value-added perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?
We choose our clients wisely, who care about their product and our technology is proven worthwhile for their problems as a solution. Working with some startup and helping some clients before we start JSbot, we have seen many aspects of clients and learned from them. My favorite is `They don't have the time or money to do it well for the first time, but they always have it to do it again.”
So we share our honest thoughts with our clients at the time of project discussion. We research a lot about How we can add the real value in their project. If the vision or requirements don’t match, then we help them to find another technology partner from our network, that way we keep our relationship alive.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive?
We’re not an industry-specific startup, but we believe in solving the problem which we feel challenging for us. However, if we categorize it then:
Productivity tool
Communication & Meeting
Content Curation tool
Sales and Marketing
Law and Advisory
Manufacturing & Production
Real Estate
Education & Academics
Technology and consulting
We have recurring clients instead of repetitive; we can say around 80%.
Mention the objectives or the parameters critical in determining the time frame of developing software.
Main objectives are:
1. Research (R&D)
2. UI/UX
3. Development
Further, we can sub-categorized into:-
1. Research
- Business specific research
- Technology-specific research
- Risk factor analysis etc
2. UI/UX
- Screen Design
- Animation
- Illustration & Icons design
- Screen Composition
3. Development
- FrontEnd (HTML, CSS, JS, Choose right framework)
- BackEnd (API development, business logic)
- Security
- Scaling (Docker, Kubernity)
- Third party services (Varies from MVP to real product)
How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of software?
FrontEnd and BackEnd both have their objectives to determine the efforts in terms of time.
FrontEnd development time varies with the complexity of UI/UX and BackEnd development time varies with Business Logic complexity. Lower the complexity lower the development time. If we use a TDD approach (popular and helpful in product development), then it will increase 20-30% development time, but later it will reduce 95% maintenance time.
What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right framework for developing software?
It highly depends on the nature of the project. We can categorize it by this:-
1. Features
- It should provide all necessary elements which can accelerate the development
- Like if frontend framework would support SSR, Routing, Lazy-loading, etc
- moreover, for backend framework, it should support ORM, multi DB support, session management, RESR, GraphQL support
2.Configuration
- It should be highly configured
3. Automation
- It should help with common task automation.
4. Skeleton
- It should provide ready to use project skeleton
5 CLI
- Command line helpers support to interact with the project
6. Well Documentation
7. Test Runner
- Would possible to write secure unit and integration test.
8. Active community
- This is the most important from all above; The city must be busy so any problem or road-block while development can be asked and get help from it.
Which languages & frameworks do you prefer to use in the development of software?
- Frontend
Reactjs, ReactNative, Redux, Nextjs, Ignite2
- Backend
Nodejs, Python, ExpressJS, Fastify, Nest, Trailsjs, Sailsjs
What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of software?
1. Time Duration
2. No. of resource for development
3. Risk analysis
4. Maintenance analysis
5. CI/CD & Deployment
6. SLA
7. Monthly subscription
It’ll generate the recurring revenue, and it’ll grow with time being. It keeps us active to give value and add value repeatedly on time interval to increase our user-base which enable the journey of being cockroach to unicorn startup.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions, etc.)
- Monthly/hourly basis (twice in a month)
- A fixed budget for the concrete requirement
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
Yes, we took the project which can meet the basic requirement. Because with less budget we cannot deliver the quality that we want to provide. Moreover, we’ll never compromise on work quality.
$5000 is the minimum budget requirement.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2018?
Minimum price - $7000 USD
Maximum price - $50000+ and continued
