The top of the logo incorporates a staircase motif, representing growth and the steps forward in the democratic journey, while subtly referencing the project’s name, “Khatawat.” Additionally, the design includes elements inspired by Sudanese cultural patterns, with the letter “K” thoughtfully embedded within the logo to reinforce brand identity.

Leoceros delivered a recognizable and impactful logo that embodies the spirit of progress, seamlessly merging cultural heritage with contemporary design to create a lasting symbol for Sudan’s democratic transition.

The final logo successfully symbolized progress and unity, serving as a powerful representation of Sudan’s democratic transition initiative. The design features sharp corners on one side to convey seriousness and circular edges on the other to symbolize hope, striking a balance between resilience and optimism.

Masar Association is implementing Wasl, a project aimed at strengthening social cohesion among youth in Lebanon. The initiative—whose name, “Wasl,” meaning “connection” in Arabic, was created as part of the branding process—empowers young people as agents of change, fostering dialogue and understanding across communities through sports, theater, media advocacy, and community engagement. The project spans four Lebanese areas, bringing together youth, municipalities, and community members to address social tensions and promote a shared identity.

Youth in Lebanon face increasing social fragmentation and community tensions, with limited platforms to engage constructively across different backgrounds. Existing initiatives often lack cohesion or visibility, making it challenging to inspire meaningful dialogue, collaboration, and a sense of shared purpose among young people. A strong, recognizable brand and visual identity were needed to unify Wasl’s activities and communicate its mission effectively to participants, stakeholders, and the broader public.

We developed the name, branding, and logo for Wasl to embody unity, energy, and empowerment. This included creating a distinctive logo, a modern color palette, typography, and adaptable visual elements for digital and print materials—covering social media, promotional items, workshops, and community events. The branding system reflects inclusivity and youth engagement while ensuring consistency across all project touchpoints, helping the initiative stand out and resonate with its target audience.

The naming, branding, and visual identity successfully positioned Wasl as a cohesive and inspiring movement for social unity among Lebanese youth. The new design strengthened recognition across the four regions, increased engagement in activities, and fostered a sense of shared purpose among participants. Stakeholders, municipalities, and community members responded positively, enhancing the credibility and visibility of the project and reinforcing its role as a catalyst for dialogue, collaboration, and social cohesion.

This story is inspired by real-life testimonies collected by the Save the Children team during their field visits and activities in collective shelters. This approach not only honors their voices but also visually enriches the story, allowing their feelings and realities to resonate powerfully with the audience.

The storybook served as a powerful advocacy and awareness tool, amplifying the voices of affected children while engaging stakeholders, partners, and the broader community in conversations about the humanitarian impact of conflict.
