Michael Schmitt

I can see mental pictures of my life so vividly, like a movie running in my head. This is how I remember everything. I do not see words, only images. I think this is why I really love and understand how photography can be so powerful. It captures a moment in time that we all can relive again and again. When I was six years old my parents gave me a 110-instamatic camera. It all began with photographs of my dogs, planes in the sky, and old mining cabins in Colorado where I grew up. Later photography evolved from capturing biking, rock climbing and windsurfing adventures with friends to earning a Fine Arts degree at Lewis and Clark College. My passion for photography and for learning has continued ever since.
