ONMOTIO

Based in London, ONMOTIO designs and engineers physical products, from the first sketch to the production line. We work with founders, startups and established brands that want to build a business around a hardware product.

Our core team of nine handles industrial design, mechanical engineering, electronics and firmware, and prototyping, along with the renders, branding and product strategy needed to launch. Manufacturing constraints shape the design from the start, so the files we hand over are ready for a factory rather than a concept that will need redrawing.

Projects run in clear phases, each closing with a deliverable and a go/no-go decision: concept design, product development, prototyping, then detail design and DFM ahead of tooling, and support into small-batch production and certification. A network of trusted partners extends the team for series injection molding, small batches, textile and upholstery, high-power test benches, sheet metal and welding.

Since 2017, we have completed 150+ projects and helped bring 50+ products to market for clients in the US, Canada, Europe and Australia. The studio started in Canada, is now headquartered in London, and runs its own prototyping workshops in Brazil and North America. Selected work: the eXalt SOLO light sport aircraft ($1.5M in funding, assembled in 40 hours without special tools), the KORU air purifier (over 1000% of its Indiegogo goal, taken through to injection tooling), rail-ready truck conversions built to Canadian National standards for HiRail Leasing, and a modular premium sauna range for Glow Saunas. Recognition includes CES Innovation Awards honoree status in 2020 and 2021 and an Epic MegaGrant.
