Background

Created by Logos DAO founders, Shield3 offers web3 security and compliance tools for developers, enforcing transaction policies and monitoring for violations to ensure safe and compliant application operation. Shield3 integrates with various wallets and supports major blockchains like Ethereum and Polygon. Key integrations include Forta for threat data, Alchemy for blockchain communication, and Dynamic & Privy for wallet support.

Approach

Protokol conducted strategic planning and technical assessments to determine the optimal technology stack and design approach for Shield3. The design team collaborated closely with Shield3's founders to align on brand identity and platform objectives. Protokol's backend team developed a system to store wallet transaction histories using AWS DynamoDB and implemented passwordless authentication for user access. They also created a scanning mechanism to automatically detect security threats. The frontend team developed a Shield3 dApp with custom policies to block suspect transactions and trigger two-factor authentication for verification.

Outcome

Protokol helped Shield3 realize their vision of a secure web3 platform, providing comprehensive consulting and development services. Isaac Patka, Co-Founder of Shield3, praised Protokol for their significant role in designing and developing the infrastructure. The platform now successfully serves a global user base, enhancing web3 security.

Background
The concept of DAOs (decentralised autonomous organisations) has evolved, expanding from gaming guilds to NFT art incubators, with the market cap reaching $21Bn in Jan 2022. Recognizing the growth in the DAO ecosystem, Logos envisioned creating a DAO discovery directory for users to find and join DAOs that match their interests. This directory idea blossomed into a broader educational platform, where Logos could become a central hub for DAO knowledge, rewarding users with tokens for educational activities. Logos teamed up with Protokol, drawing on their extensive web3 expertise to enhance their platform's user interface and broader ecosystem strategy.

Approach
The collaboration began with Protokol reviewing the existing Logos user interface. Insights from this review initiated a comprehensive overhaul, starting with in-depth UX research, market analysis, and strategic discussions about brand identity. The outcome was a redesigned front-end and a technical roadmap for backend support. Development involved creating a blueprint for new features, overhauling the front-end using Next.js, and improving the backend with AWS services, including Lambda for business logic, GraphQL and Rest APIs for data integration, and DynamoDB and S3 for data storage and static assets. The development phase included rigorous testing to ensure smooth functionality.

Outcome
The revamped platform was completed and launched in late 2022 after Logos' enthusiastic approval. Ongoing quality assurance tests ensure its robust performance. Protokol continues to work closely with Logos, not only on the DAO directory but also on other ventures like Shield3, indicating a promising future of collaboration and innovation within the Logos ecosystem.

Background

Club dVIN, a global NFT wine club founded in 2022, has around 400 members, including wine professionals, makers, collectors, and enthusiasts worldwide. The club combines real-life gastronomic experiences with web3 technology, focusing on building a community around investment-grade wines. Club dVIN partnered with Protokol to leverage their technical expertise in reaching a broader base of high-end wine collectors.

Approach

Protokol adopted a phased approach to develop Club dVIN’s dApp, beginning with strategic planning to align with Club dVIN’s goals, followed by the construction and testing of the dApp. Utilizing web3 technologies, the dApp was built on the Ethereum Mainnet and Polygon blockchain, incorporating non-custodial wallets like Metamask, Torus, and Wallet Connect, and integrating traditional payment methods through Stripe. The team also developed a custom NFT platform to manage various luxury wine tokens, which included membership NFTs for new members and digital bottle/cork tokens for a virtual cellar in the Club dVIN metaverse.

Outcome

The dApp was launched in 2022, receiving a positive reception from the community, with over 350 genesis tokens issued at launch. This new platform enables Club dVIN members to collect tokens that verify their activities and achievements within the global luxury wine ecosystem. These tokens enhance the membership experience by providing both a digital and physical dimension to wine collecting and sharing, marking a significant enhancement in the integration of web3 technology in luxury wine collecting.

Government

In 2018, 29 countries formed the European Blockchain Partnership (EBP) to leverage blockchain for cross-border public services, aiming to create a trustworthy platform for verifying information and data exchange. Initial use cases included trusted audit trails, digital identities, and regulatory compliance. Protokol joined the project, advising on blockchain infrastructure and developing a custom SDK in Typescript for the EBSI network.

EBSI SDK (Software Development Kit)
Protokol developed an EBSI-specific SDK to help organizations build applications on the EBSI blockchain, enhancing interoperability and enabling various use cases like supply chains and digital identity.

ARK blockchain compatibility with EBSI Notarisation use case
Protokol facilitated EBSI's compatibility with ARK blockchain to support notarisation functionalities, verifying documents and storing hashes on-chain, which set performance benchmarks for the network.

EBSI VECTOR
In 2022, Protokol was selected for the EBSI VECTOR project to develop a framework for verifying educational and professional credentials across EU borders, aiming to reduce bureaucratic friction and promote efficiency. This involves defining verification parameters and developing interoperable EBSI wallets for enterprise use and citizen credentials.

Wallets
Protokol is creating an enterprise wallet for the VECTOR project, essential for issuing and verifying credentials efficiently across EU states. They will also develop citizen wallets to store digital credentials, focusing on user-friendly design to encourage widespread adoption.

Roadmap & Timelines
VECTOR started on July 1, 2023, with Protokol actively involved in shaping and delivering the project. Milestones are set through 2023 and 2024, aiming for completion by mid-2025.
