Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the organization.
QualityLogic is a leading US software and application testing services company. Since 1986, we have worked with some of the most recognizable brands in the world to improve the quality of their web and mobile applications, develop truly accessible digital programs, and provide smart energy solutions. As of 2022, we have over 200 employees and have successfully completed more than 5,000 projects.

I am the co-founder of the company and serve as president and CEO of QualityLogic.
What is the story behind starting this company?
QualityLogic was founded in 1986 to help solve compatibility problems between print systems and software applications. As a result, we developed the quality assurance test tools and test suites that quickly became the industry standard. We sold our test tool to all the major printing manufacturers – and still do. After writing the original tests for testing the internal language of printers, we began testing multi-functional capabilities within printers which advanced the technical capabilities of the company.

As printing manufacturers began to shift many of their operations offshore, my partners and I shifted the efforts of the company to expand beyond printer manufacturers. Our experience showed the importance of integrating QA testing services and making it part of the development process, and the company continued to expand our software testing services.

That dedication to innovation and ensuring our customers are delighted with our team’s work has helped us evolve into one of the leading pure-play software testing companies.
What are your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
QualityLogic is based exclusively in the United States and all our QA technicians and QA engineers are in-house, full-time employees. Our managed services model consists of dedicated team members for each client – from fully-managed technical talent to strategic leadership and guidance. If a client requires resources outside of the US as a component of the work, we have the partnerships to deliver this service, however, QualityLogic manages all resources and works directly. This is provided as needed, but our core model is our US teams.
How does your company differentiate itself from the competition?
We are one of the very few onshore testing services providers exclusively based in the United States. This means QualityLogic is fully aligned with our clients in terms of time-zone, language, culture, and other capacities which makes integrating our QA teams very easy.

Further differentiating us is that, rather than pushing pre-packaged solutions, we tailor our approach to each client’s needs. We focus on being a strategic partner, helping identify the client’s problems, and proactively recommending solutions.

We’re also unique in the flexibility we offer clients – from the way we can work and integrate into their development teams, easily work with Agile and DevOps models, or quickly scale resources or leverage specialists on demand. Further, for prospective clients, we are able to typically respond to inquiries within an hour and can have complete proposals to them within days.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what ratio of clients has been repetitive to you?
We have worked with some of the most recognizable brands in the world – including media and entertainment, social and dating networks, retail and e-commerce, financial, education, legal services, healthcare and fitness, and more.
For clients that see value in having a dedicated and ongoing QA function in their business, QualityLogic is proud to have an annual 95% customer retention rate on dedicated support programs.
Please share some of the services that you offer for which clients approach you the most for?
We are a pure-play software testing company. Our capabilities include quality engineering and advisory, test automation, digital accessibility services, manual functional testing, and test planning and documentation. Many customers see value in having QualityLogic serve as their entire QA department and advise them strategically on testing. This lets our clients focus their teams on the development cycles and core business needs, which results in faster and higher-quality product releases.
What is your customer satisfaction rate according to you? What steps do you take to cater to your customer’s needs and requirements?
We have a 98% customer satisfaction rating according to our reviews. Honesty, trustworthiness, and a passion for helping our clients release great software are the foundational pillars of our company. By adhering to these principles, we continue to build long-lasting relationships with our clients.
What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?
The entire engagement is built around the client’s needs and the QA challenges they are facing. We do not begin with a pre-packaged model that we attempt to fit them into. Instead, we begin with a conversation around their context and their QA requirements, and we take the opportunity to really get to know their business, teams, culture, and customers. Based on that discovery, we design a testing services approach and program to fit their unique needs.

In terms of ongoing support, the benefit of our team providing this as a managed service is that we have senior-level leaders working ongoing with their team to ensure the program is continually meeting their needs, proactively identifying and solving future bottlenecks or issues, and suggesting opportunities for growth and improvement.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
We operate on a time and materials billing structure with not-to-exceed limits established in every proposal. In addition, our clients engage us with confidence as we also guarantee all of our work and performance.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
We are highly committed to seeing all companies be successful with their quality assurance needs, however, we typically only engage programs that are at least a few weeks' worths of work. This is just based on staffing logistics and amounts to a minimum budget between $5,000 and $7,500.

Even in cases where the program is less work than we can service, we still recommend alternative solutions and try to ensure that everyone who comes to us receives support and guidance.
Where do you see your company in the next 10 years?
We often hear from new clients that they are tired of the inflexibility of large providers but struggle with the lack of strategic leadership and expertise from smaller providers. Compounding this, almost no one has a truly US operation. We are highly committed to providing the best US testing solutions, paired with true strategic leadership and an approach that puts our customers first. We believe that approach is why we have grown so significantly and that is what we hope to bring to our future customers as well.

Review Summary

I selected QualityLogic after evaluating several vendors to assist with UAT testing for a new application launch. We had a tight turnaround time, but the QualityLogic team was able to ramp up their team quickly and started providing valuable feedback from the start. They abided by the project's release cadence and were great at documenting identified issues. It was also helpful to hear their perspective as new members of the project team with no prior experience with our application. We will definitely use them again for future implementations.

The QualityLogic team was brought onto our engagement very late into the project and we were given very little notice of it so naturally, that brought up some initial concern as to how it would go. We were immediately impressed by their skillset, communication, and support of their compliance testing.
