Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the company?
SamsonOS, headquartered in Kiev, Ukraine was founded in September, 2011. We have a development team of fifteen members and our main expertise lies in web development. We started the company with an objective to make our own PHP framework and CMS built on it. We have an open source repository and some other achievements through which we were selling our services in the initial three years. However, now we use our expertise in the most popular frameworks like Symfony, WordPress, Laravel and such others through which we are able to reach out to a huge market segment of the USA and Europe. We are also helping young and major start-ups to build MVPs for their companies. Apart from this, we also offer services such as Search Engine Optimization and Technical consultancy i.e. how the project should be and which technologies should be used to develop the project.
What is your company’s business model – in-house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
We don’t believe in outsourcing the projects; we have an in-house team covering all the stages of development from wireframes to UI/ UX design, implementation, and quality assurance stage. We have fifteen team members to accomplish each and every stage of the development.
How is your business model beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?
I think the factor that makes our business model valuable and contributes to our success is our location i.e. Ukraine. Being based out of this territory, we offer more cost-effective services than the other countries offering the same services. Also, our main goal is to provide the best possible quality to our clients and to accomplish this, we have an excellent quality assurance team onboard.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive?
It truly depends on the client. Till now, we have catered to startups from medical domain, music etc. Also, we have experience in developing e-commerce marketplace. So majorly, it depends on the requirements of our clients. We do not restrict ourselves to any particular set of industries.
As our major chunk of the clients are startups and we develop MVPs for them, they do not have any further requirement, however, most of them recommend us to other start-up creators and founders. So, we get a lot of projects based on client referrals.

Mention the objectives or the parameters critical in determining the time frame of developing a web app.
First of all, we consider the project requirements and complexities involved. Then comes the existence of the technical recommendation for the project and thereafter the wireframes and approvals from the client are considered. The other parameters would be a human-specific relationship with the client i.e. how he motivated, how he responded, and reacted to the communications with project manager, and last but not the least we assess how many resources he is willing to invest in the project.
How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of a web application?
Basically, we have different teams for front-end development and the back-end development and depending upon the project requirement, the strength of both teams is decided. Usually, it takes 50-50 % of the time in developing both front-end & the back-end.
What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for a web application?
The key parameter for selecting the right platform is our expertise in the technology. We are having a plethora of experience in AngularJS 2, PHP, and Symfony. We mostly take up the projects for these platforms.
Which platform and technologies do you prefer to use in development of your web apps?
We prefer Angular JS 2, Angular JS 1, Node.js, PHP, Symfony, and of course plain javascript, HTML 5 and CSS 3. Also, we use AWS as production environment. From the design perspective, we consider sketch, photoshop and zeplin.iom, invisionapp. For quality assurance, we use testrail for use cases and test cases management, and for continuous integration we use Jenkins.
Do you offer website design templates or customized website design services?
Yes, we offer both; website design templates and customized website design. We can build a website depending on the layout and theme selected by our client, we can also apply some changes if the client requires. At the same time, we can also create a new web design from the scratch because we have an in-house UI/UX design team. We create a responsive website design from the beginning of the project.
Which Content Management System do you prefer to use (Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal etc)?
We use WordPress; however, this also depends on the client requirements. For example, if the project of the client is not so generic we build an admin panel of content management system on Symfony.
Do you provide website maintenance services?
Yes, we have an internal dev ops engineer who is responsible for deployment, configuration, optimization, and analysis. So, all the services which are related to website maintenance are taken care of appropriately.
What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a web application?
We use Agile methodology so we split our project into sprints and usually, we have a sprint of two weeks. The cost of a web application mainly depends on the number of hours and other resources invested by our developers and other participants in a sprint to develop the web application.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients?
We follow two pricing models; one is Fixed Price model and another is Pay per hour model.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
Yes, we usually take smaller projects on fixed price basis and the minimum budget decided for a sprint is 1750 USD.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2016?
The minimum price of the project we did in the year 2016 is fifteen hundred dollars and the maximum is fifty thousand dollars.
