We are an award-winning digital innovation studio based in Orlando, FL and in São Paulo that has been operating since 1999 crafting web, apps and games projects, based on research, innovation and application of different technologies, art and design.

For the christmas of 2019, Netflix in partnership with agency AKQA came up with a very special project, in which Webcore had the pleasure of contributing with the website development.

The project’s idea was to allow real life people to help Klaus and Jesper, characters of the new Netflix animation, bring the joy of Christmas to underprivileged children.

During the campaign, people could sing up on the website as a volunteer to be Klaus’ assistant. Afterwards they would have a package delivered to their house containing a kit with the materials and instructions to make a customized toy.

Once assembled, painted and ready to go, the toy should be put back in the package and taken to a post office in order to be sent back to Netflix – all free of cost. At the end of the campaign, all of the toys were gifted to kids from the Horizontal Love Foundation (“Fundação Amor Horizontal”).

The project counted with of thousands of people who signed up on the website. Pictures of the Christmas campaign and of people who participated building and customizing the toys can be found on Instagram under the hashtag #AjudantesDoKlaus (“#Klaus’Assistants”).

The idea of Feeling Tree is not only celebrating the National Climate Change Awareness’ Week, but also to reach out to the population and talk about those changes and the high pollution rates that harm the city.

The project was made for the IPÊ (Ecological Research Institute) and designed by Y&R agency. Developed alongside notable companies (Webcore Interactive, Estúdio Laborg, Conspiração Filmes, Croácia, Visualfarm and Vetor Zero), we developed a system that gathered information from CETESB (Environment Company of the State of São Paulo) website and projected videos of 3D facial expressions on trees, according to the local air pollution rate. The higher the O2 rate, more irritated and disturbed would be the tree’s expression. Therefore, if the air quality got better, the tree would cheerfully smile.

The action was performed at Costa e Silva (Minhocão) and also at the Charles Miller Square in the city of São Paulo, March/2014.

The project won third place at Cannes Lions 2014 at Design category.

Polaris is a simulator able to recreate in detail, and with total immersion, the experience of travelling by plane. From the arrival at the airport, the check-in process, the x-ray machines, the departure lounge and, of course, the entire journey itself, to the landing and the arrival at the destination. This was the challenge presented to make viable a revolutionary treatment for aviophobia (fear of flying) by the #1 group of specialists on the subject in Brazil, the Center of Cognitive Therapy of São Paulo.

That’s how Polaris was born, a custom-made virtual reality simulator - pioneer of e-health (the use of technology on the Health Field) - being the world’s most detailed simulator for the treatment of fear of flying.

The simulator is a key part of a structured treatment, conducted by the renowned group of psychologists and psychiatrists from the Center for Cognitive Therapy of São Paulo. During the treatment, after a detailed initial assessment, patients get to know the nature of their fear, and learn techniques to contain it and overcome it. After that, they can go to the simulator to put the techniques into practice, and acquire the necessary security to be able to take a trip in a real airplane.

In addition to the development, Webcore was also responsible for the design of the Polaris project experience, so that a highly realistic simulation could expose patients to situations that trigger their fears in a transparent way, that is, allowing the patient to get in contact with the created situation without worrying about something else. Maximum priority was given to the comfort of the user within the experience, with several proven techniques being used to eliminate the risk of nausea or malaise, an essential care for the use of virtual reality.

The end result is more than rewarding. In addition to the media coverage, the most important is to verify the effectiveness of the simulator among patients in overcoming their barriers.

Webcore developed and app for Sesc destined to the inauguration of their new building at the Paulista Avenue (city of São Paulo – SP). Containing activities dedicated to the body, art and technology, Sesc Avenida Paulista is within your reach through this app!

On the app, you can experience 360º immersions through the view that is offered on the building’s observation deck, explore georeferenced tours about subjects as diverse as the cultural centers and the species of local trees, listen to an audiotour about the Paulista Avenue – its history and curiosities – play a composition game inspired on the building’s façade and more.

Observation Deck + 360º
Not only can you let your eyes and mind wander around from the rooftop view, you can also get to know significant places on the horizon of the Paulista Avenue. There are 60 places at the Avenue that can be explored on the 360º immersions.

Tours
You will have three options: be guided by an audiotour that takes you from Sesc to the Museum of Art of São Paulo; follow the essential cultural spots of the Paulista Avenue, or discover the regional trees that silently observe the city groove, by selecting the option “Veredas Urbanas”.

Sesc’s Brazilian Art Collection
This is the conducting wire to a path of artworks in exhibition and artists’ histories taught through audio and images.

Game
You are challenged to fill the building’s façade in 120 seconds, listening to Hermeto Pascoal. It’s a fun way to spend your time while in the line or waiting for the elevator. You have to be really fast in order to fit a lot of pieces and score.

Augmented Reality Art
The animation was created by Kiko Farkas and Julien Sappa and it was made especially for the opening of the new building at Paulista Avenue. In order to see the magic happen, all you have to do is access sescavenidapaulista.org.br/capa from a computer and appreciate the AR animation.

Together with Africa AgencyWebcore developed a website for Budweiser’s marketing campaign Slap the Tape, for the Lollapalooza music festival. The idea was to celebrate Budweiser as the first company to ever sponsor Lollapalooza, in 1991, and bring out the nostalgic feeling of the 90’s with a very common situation back then: the cassette tape getting stuck on the VHS.

The campaign was a giveaway of 9 tickets to the festival, all the user had to do to participate was go on the website and give the video cassette player some slaps. After a certain amount of clicks a message was displayed on screen announcing whether or not the user had won the ticket. In case they had won, the user needed to fill out a form in order to receive the tickets afterwards.

In celebration to Hermeto Pascoal ‘s 30 years of musical career, Budweiser created the project Made of Music, in which Webcore was responsible for developing the website together with Africa Agency.

The idea of the project is to enable users to explore through graphic and visual elements some songs by the famous Brazilian composer. This all became possible due to a tool developed by Dimitre Lima that transcribes sounds into data and code language, allowing it to be applied as visual elements in images as the song is played. The user can upload a picture, select a song, and watch the image be transformed by the music of Hermeto Pascoal.

After the new image is generated, the user has the option to interact with its elements, download it, share it on Facebook as a simulation of an album cover, or also pick another song to watch the magic happen in different ways.

The project won a Silver Lion at Design > Data Visualisation category at Cannes Lions 2018

Webcore developed, in partnership with Oath agency, a set of Augmented Reality experiences for Chevrolet during Brazil’s biggest automobile show called “Salão do Automóvel” of 2018 (free translation: The Automobile Salon).

Throughout the event, there were tablets at the brand’s area that people could use and interact with Chevrolet’s automobiles. The Augmented Reality interactions were activated when the tablet’s camera was pointed to specific parts of the vehicles, with no need for QR codes placed on the car.

The camera recognized the specific spot and showed the user information about it such as videos about the new car’s functions, informative texts about the vehicle and even a luggage simulation with 3D objects in order to demonstrate visually how much can be fit in the car’s trunk or the pickup’s truck bed.

Turma do Chico Bento was a social game for Facebook and Orkut developed by us, when we were still the Insolita Studios and published by Level Up! in partnership with Mauricio de Sousa Productions. In the game, the player needed to take care of his farm, planting and taking care of the animals, while participating in adventures as if he were in a story of Chico Bento, the caipirinha created by Mauricio de Sousa.

Before entering in Vila Abobrinha, from Chico Bentos local adventures, the player created an avatar similar to Mauricios characters. The player could choose hairstyles, clothes, eye and hair color.

In addition to the traditional look of the Chico Bento and Turma da Mônica comics, Turma do Chico Bento had a rustic accent, lots of typical brazilian content, humor and even romance (you could ask one of your friends to date!). The original soundtrack that set the mood for the game was created by the musician Lucas Lima.

The game reached the mark of 750 thousand users in just over three months after its launch and, in total, there were more than 4 million players. In addition, he won the Brazilian Game category at the 9th edition of the Gameworld Trophy in 2013.

Webcore in partnership with Estúdio Laborg and the Rios e Ruas developed the electronic model of the Rios Des.Cobertos project which presented to the public the extensive watershed of the city of São Paulo, almost entirely already hidden and covered by streets and avenues, through an interactive model.

The model had an interactive mapped projection and was structured in informative layers (among them, the rivers and bodies of water in the city, the sub and micro-basins, parks and squares with bodies of water and the urban area of São Paulo ), and offered the sensorial experience as a ludic tool to instigate visitors, giving autonomy in the acquisition of knowledge and freedom of choice of what one wants to discover.

The public could navigate through the installation in different ways: discovering the paths of the waters in the city of São Paulo, comparing the rivers that remain in the open with all those that run underground, identifying the consequences of this concealment of the watercourses, knowing the history of river rectifications and seeing the actions already underway for the rediscovery of these rivers.

The exhibition took place in several Sesc units.

In partnership with Red Bull, Gaulês launches a campaign that challenges its fans to unravel details about his past and career by participating in a "reverse" quiz. The mechanics are simple: after registering on the website, the competitor needs to write the question that relates to the answer displayed on the screen. If the participant needs more clues, they can unlock another answer by adding 10 seconds to their final time. At most, there will be three clues per question.

In total, the 'Elmo Challenge' will have six questions, with each one released weekly, always on Tuesdays. Gamers will have 48 hours, starting from the publication on the website, to test their knowledge. The winner is the one who answers the most questions in the shortest possible time, with the time being timed from accessing the question.

The winner receives a special prize: the opportunity to meet the star and personally deliver the famous symbol of the Tribe to him.

Webcore, in partnership with the media company Oath, developed an Augmented Reality experience for the launch of the new C&A Jeans collection, which can be seen in the interaction with the window display, clothing labels and shelves of the chain's stores.

The development of Augmented Reality was carried out integrated with the C&A Brasil application, which allowed thousands of consumers who already had the App to benefit from the action without the need to install a new application.

In the C&A campaign, 12 influencers were hired to be ambassadors for each jeans model. Opening the C&A Brasil application on the Try it out tab, the cell phone camera is activated and when pointing to the store window, the model's poster comes to life and she tells a little more about the pants she is wearing.

The video in Augmented Reality allows you to see the jeans with more movement and fluidity than in a static photo. In addition to explaining more about the pants, a button is available on the screen to see more looks, combinations and possibilities for using that piece. This experience can also be accessed by pointing the camera at the banner on the gondola of the selected model inside the store, or even at the pants label itself, wherever and whenever you want.

Currently there is a huge growth in the use of Augmented Reality; it has always been used with the function of entertaining, but it is also incredibly useful for companies and campaigns by enabling immersions and interactions with the public in an innovative ways.  C&A was the first retail store in Brazil to use this technology to increase the interaction between window display and the final public.

To feed the internet with good, Pedigree in partnership with the agency AlmapBBDO, invited dogs available for adoption for a special event. During one day, at Pedigree's AdoCÃO fair, a keyboard inspired by puppies was set up and they responded and interacted with negative messages on Twitter.

In this project, Webcore was responsible for developing the software that made the keyboard work, using virtual reality tracking technology. The dogs were free to play while wearing a vest with a virtual reality sensor. According to their movement over the keyboard, it was possible to accurately capture the position of each one of them and the keys pressed, generating personalized messages with emojis written by the puppies.

We also built a moderation system, where each moderator could see tweets with negative messages found on Twitter and choose which ones would be answered. When choosing, the system chose a message created by one of the Dog Bots and responded sympathetically on Twitter with a message in emoticon format and a gif of the campaign.

During that day, more than 80 dogs were adopted!

To launch its new Air Max line, Nike, in partnership with the agency AKQA, decided to make the new models available in a different way: transforming famous graffiti from the city of São Paulo into virtual stores.

In partnership with Instagrafite, the largest collaborative gallery in Brazil, Nike invited street artists owners of the most iconic graffiti in São Paulo to "wear" the new Air Max models to their characters in their graffiti works. From then on, through geolocation, the respective sneakers were only available for sale to those who were in specific locations, close to the graffitied works.

In this project, Webcore was responsible for the integration of geolocation with Nike's sales platform, ensuring that only those who were present at the graffiti site had access to the sneakers related to that work.

The action was successful not only for its innovation but also for its message of valuing the art and culture of graffiti in the middle of the city of São Paulo.

The project won:

In partnership with Live agencyWebcore developed an amazing and fun game for Amazon Prime Video during CCXP 2020, which for the first time happened in a 100% on-line edition.

Amazon Prime Video World is a “treasure hunt” style game, where the user needs to find 10 easter eggs from 7 different lists, and each one refers to a series of the platform, such as The Boys and American Gods. The final result was a map full of details to make the search even more exciting.

Inside the game, the user can check the names of the objects in a list and also track the time that takes to find them on a timer. And in the end, it’s possible to put the name in a ranking and share it with whoever you want.

The game was available just during the days of the event.

We have great news for chocolate lovers: for the first time in history, it is possible to create your own personalized box of chocolates with just your favorite flavors from Nestlé and Garoto! In addition to choosing each chocolates, the box is assembled on the fly by a friendly robot, the Chocobot. There are 15 options to choose from among the 18 types available and it is also possible to customize the packaging with a message and stickers.

In this project, made for NestléPollux company was responsible for the development of the robot and Webcore contributed to the project in the gamification and development of the digital interface where the person chooses the chocolates.

At Garena's request, Webcore created FF SQUAD, a fantasy sport game so that Free Fire lovers can follow the LBFF (Brazilian Free Fire League) in a more integrated, dynamic and gamified way.

In FF SQUAD players need to assemble teams of five pro players and a coach to score during the match days. Depending on the actual performance of the pro players on those days, the player will receive more or less points. The more the player is aware of the events of the championship, the greater will be his chances to stand out in the overall ranking. The virtual coin value of pro players also varies depending on their performance in the real LBFF championship.

The game also features real pro player data so users have details about their favorite pro players performance over the past few weeks and make their best choices.

In partnership with the AKQA agency, which was responsible for the design and layout, Webcore had the pleasure to develop the interactive Beck’s Frequency website. On the website, it’s possible to change the sound frequency to make the taste of any beer more bitter. Works like this:

• You get a beer that isn’t Beck’s
• Put on the headset and listen to the music on the bitter frequency for 10s
• Taste the beer, paying attention to the flavor
• Switch to Beck’s Frequency and listen to the music for another 10s
• And taste the beer again, paying attention to the bitter taste

The songs you listen to in this incredible experience include authorship by worldwide famous DJs, such as Vintage Culture, KVSH and BADSISTA.

The project won Gold Lion and Silver Lion in the Radio & Audio category at Cannes Lions 2020/2021.

Webcore developed the action in augmented reality created by Nike in partnership with Live angency for Nike Members who purchased the Brazilian National Team jersey on the website.

Nike Members who purchased the shirt get access to the experience platform and can share their photos wearing it. From then on, virtual autographs of athletes such as Ronaldo FenômenoRayssa Leal and Richarlison, and artists Djonga and MC Hariel can be stamped on the shirt. The action celebrates a special Members' Day for the football category on Nike.com.
