Founded in Brussels in 1908, the ZIEGLER company gave birth to the group which now bears its name. Ziegler originally provided land and rail transport groupage services, with a particular speciality: wine groupage. Unlike most transport companies that traditionally shift from national to international, ZIEGLER Belgium has had, from the outset, a decidedly international vocation. That is the very DNA of the company.

Belgium’s positioning at the heart of the various European markets and at the centre of Europe’s bustling “Blue Banana” makes it a real transit and distribution hub in Europe.

The development of ZIEGLER in Belgium was very closely linked to the powerful role of Northern European ports, particularly in Belgium and the Netherlands, from very early on. In Antwerp and Zeebrugge, Ziegler stood apart through its strong positions and by the density of its sea infrastructure and services.
