Please introduce your product and give a brief about your role within the organization.
Our product is an inventory forecasting Saas solution. Our web app has the ability to source past sales data of our retail clients. It then uses that data to produce a sales forecast, much like looking into the future of sales. Finally (and this is the biggest added value) it utilizes the sales forecast to calculate an optimal replenishment list to optimize our clients’ inventories. In other words, we tell our clients what to buy, when to buy, and how much in order to have the right amount of inventory for sales. Not too much inventory to create overstock and not too little inventory to face stockouts. Just the perfect balance.
What was the objective behind coming up with this software?
We’ve been working in sales forecasting and inventory optimization for the past 15 years. Our solution was huge (only affordable for major retail operators). So we saw the trend of democratization of technology happening all around us and we thought if we could downscale our solution into an affordable Saas, we could help also SME customers, which suffer from a huge technological divide. Clearly, the issues with inventory happen in all growth stages of retail and it was clear, that smaller companies needed our help as well. So we created Inventoro to help them.
How is your software beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other software alternatives available in the market?
When you compare our solution to products, which are on-premises then obviously our biggest value-added is price and ease of use. If you look at our competition, which also operates as Saas software, then our solution has the better algorithms, this translates into the accuracy of our results. Also, we’ve made Inventoro really simple to use so our customers can really be beginners in forecasting and they’ll still be able to use our system, as opposed to our competition’s solution.
What industries do you generally cater to? Which industries in general are highly benefiting by using your software?
Retail. And mostly e-commerce, but our system works also with brick-and-mortar stores as well as wholesale companies. A very tiny percentage of use cases also apply to small production shops.
What are the key features of your software that makes it stand apart from your competitor products in the market?
Our system has almost zero input. You really just connect your data and you are good to go. Our competition requires a lot of extra fiddling, which we have managed to completely automate.

When we get into detail then we have automatic peak detection, automatic seasonality, automatic stock-out detection, and some other features.

We are also fully transparent in what value we bring to our customers. Once they start using the system they immediately see how much money they can save (and make) on inventory.

It could be said that most sales forecasting solutions out there work on the same principle. You read past sales, you segment products and you come up with a replenishment list. What really stands out in our solution is that we make it extremely easy for our users. Everything is intuitive, which is not the case elsewhere.
What is the customer satisfaction rate according to you? What steps do you take to cater to your customer’s needs and requirements?
We are still a young startup company and we like to be as close to the client as possible. So I personally handle most of the customer support, which they value to a huge extend. In a world where customers are victims of dull automated chatbots, we come in with some good old human touch :)
Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what is the percentage of repeat customers that you have?
The way our system works is that we run on monthly fees. So repetition isn’t really a factor. Once they start to use the system and they like it, they just continue on and on.
Does your software product provide any resource or knowledge section for its users? If yes, what kind of material is provided to your users to help them get acquainted with your product?
We do have an online knowledge base where we aim to put most of the frequent questions and issues. The rest we deal with personally in customer care. And like I said, I get heavily involved in the front line.
What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?
As an online company. We deal with everything online. So it’s a chatbot, emails, and video calls all day long.
What has been the revenue for your product for 2020?
We started sales in December 2020. So our revenue from last year doesn’t represent anything.
Where do you see your product in the next 10 years?
In 10 years our product will be a standard for any retail operations and will be 100% embedded in the way retailers conduct their business. We will probably move completely to the background and just operate with 100% autonomy. Our product will be completely invisible. Using our product will no longer be a choice, it will just be a fact of life. Just like having a thermostat for your heating system. Do you ever consider not having one? No, it is just an essential part of heating. So essential, that you don’t even know how to fully operate it. It just works.
