Please introduce your product and give a brief about your role within the organisation.
Shiptheory is a shipping management platform that removes friction from retailers' fulfilment processes, connecting retailers directly with the world's best shipping companies. As a co-founder of Shiptheory. I’m cross-functionality, but my typical day consists of working between customers and the dev team to make sure we’re solving the right problems for retailers.
What was the objective behind coming up with this software?
When I first started writing software integration software in 2008, the UK carrier tech scene was so far behind the rest of the world. APIs we were either rare or hard to get access to. Those early shipping integrations were created to bridge the technical barrier for retailers who needed to be able to ship faster. 2021 and it is still incredibly difficult for retailers to integrate with their carriers, so the purpose behind Shiptheory remains the same; automate repetitive tasks, remove friction, bridge technical barriers.
How is your software beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other software alternatives available in the market?
We build Shiptheory collaboratively with our retailers. This is key, there is no one that knows the problems retailers face other than retailers themselves. This has resulted in Shiptheory being much more flexible on functionality than other shipping platforms. As carrier APIs evolve, the technical barrier to entry lowers and we are seeing new entrants constantly popup, but they mostly all lack the deep-set tacit knowledge and long-standing carrier relationships we have build in the years. And that is why we are officially recognized and recommended by many of the world's biggest carriers, such as DPD, FedEx, and Royal Mail.
What industries do you generally cater to? Which industries in general are highly benefiting by using your software?
Ecommerce. We have retailers selling shoes and retailers selling satellites, and everything in between.
What are the key features of your software that makes it stand apart from your competitor products in the market?
Shiptheory has one of the largest collections of carrier integrations in the world, so however you ship, you are covered. The intelligent shipping rules engine and multiple integrated label printing solutions available in the platform really set Shiptheory apart.
What is the customer satisfaction rate according to you? What steps do you take to cater to your customer’s needs and requirements?
The high praise for our customer service in reviews of Shiptheory is really something we are proud of.  We are essentially a white-glove service during onboarding. And after onboarding, we’re equally available through live chat, telephone, and email. If there is something you don’t understand, or the platform could make easier, let’s talk!

Yes, we are a SaaS platform. Our retailers stay with us for years, and the platform functionality grows with their requirements.
Does your software product provide any resource or knowledge section for its users? If yes, what kind of material is provided to your users to help them get acquainted with your product?
Our knowledge base has over 2000 help articles. If a question has been asked once, there is a good chance we’ll have a document that covers it.
What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?
Every retailer is different and works differently. So we provide live chat, telephone, and email support to suit the preference of our retailers.
