AppInventiv is a leading mobile app development company, specialized in the delivery of full-cycle, end-to-end mobile solutions and services for successful brands and start-ups and help them leveraging emerging technologies like IoT, e-Healthcare, Big Data and Wearable, Beacon technology and many more. I am the Managing Director at AppInventiv and responsible for driving the business development, growth, strategy and attainment of the Company’s vision and mission.
Mention the objectives or the parameters critical in determining the time frame of developing a mobile app?
Every project comes with its own complexity including platform complexity, third-party integrations, features, scope of the project and many more. That’s why before giving any time-frame to our clients, we thoroughly analyse the project and risk factors associated with it, and then only we share the time-frame with our clients. Thus, there is no specific criteria for selecting the time –frame. The only factor that can help in keeping the time-frame and efforts on track is doing the right analysis of the project.
What % of the time required to develop an app is dedicated for front end development process and back end development process?
It depends on the project requirements, features and functionalities of the application.
What is your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors / outsourcing?
We have a team of 150+ mobility experts in-house that includes experts of mobile app development (including front-end and back-end developers), designing, business analysts, quality analysts and more. We have experts to take care of each phase of the project – right from the ideation to launch; we take care of end-to-end mobile app journey. Should the need arise, we engage external consultants/Domain experts too as per the project requirements.
How is your business model beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?
We just don’t develop static or dreary apps, but even deliver incredible brand recall through design, inspire brand loyalty by sticking to company’s identity and help generate revenue through innovation. Our business model is strictly focussed on our client-centric approach. Our customized commercial model enables us to accommodate changes and feedback while development. Since our inception, by meeting our client’s business expectations, we are delivering more value than defined in terms of the contract. And, that’s why AppInventiv is seeking to create a new service baseline. Our distinctive approach has enabled us to earn the potential to provide a strategic advantage to the company. To accelerate evident progress in bringing this proposition to completion, and to sustain spur within the teams, AppInventiv delivery team is crafting new well-versed strategies.
What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for a mobile application?
At an overall level the key parameters that matter are – the product itself, focus country, the target audience and importantly, clients business model and goals. Moreover, while narrowing down to the right mobile app development platform that can provide our customers the most visibility and revenue, we look at the aforementioned key factors multiple along with getting into details like app functionality, complexities and even inherent platform challenges, among a few others.
Which platform do you suggest your clients to begin with when they approach you with an idea (Android or iOS) and why?
Gone are the days when clients didn’t know – what to look for. Today clients are wise and they know exactly what they want. They even know what their
competitor’s apps have and what not. And, that’s why it has become more exciting and enjoying to work with intelligent and passionate clients. However, we get both types of clients – one who knows everything about their app. And, one who just have an idea and want to get their app developed. For this category of client, we always suggest them to do some market research (if they want to). We help them with the research part so that we can assist them if getting the notch results and help them choose the best platform for their app. While on the other than that, if the client already know their user-base, they already know which platform to choose.
What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a mobile application?
A thorough drilled-down analysis helps in deciding the cost of the project. After having the discussions and conversations with the client, we ensure that we understand what they exactly want. Then we move ahead towards time and resources required in the development of an app. As every client is usually
different. Some strictly wants to stick to deadlines, while some have budget constraints and they want to stick to the price. So every project is different and
cost totally depends on the client’s requirements, timelines and efforts required.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients?
We usually follow Pay per milestone payment structure, where we meticulously define milestones to be delivered along with timelines. Out of the total project cost, we ask for a partial upfront cost and the rest is divided as per the milestones defined. Upon successful delivery of a milestone and client’s approval and satisfaction, we raise associated invoice.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
Yes, we usually consider projects that are above USD 10,000. However, if we find a project that is interesting, adds value to our portfolio or gives us the opportunity to work on latest and trending technologies, we definitely qualify and evaluate such projects in a differentiated manner.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2015?
The price range of projects we work on is $10k - $200k.
Which business model do you suggest to your clients enabling them to generate revenue from mobile applications? Why?
It primarily depends on clients’ business goals. For a few businesses, in order to leverage their mobile apps as a revenue stream, we suggest models like In-app purchases, Ads and referrals etc.
