ECHA Integration for EU Retailer

STIEBEL ELTRON set out to automate and simplify the delivery of product data to the ECHA platform, ensuring submissions were complete, accurate, and compliant. The central technical challenge was component-level hazardous/toxic substance declarations, not just product-level mapping. We send toxic/hazardous materials data from components (not finished goods) to ECHA, and this is technically challenging.

This required building integration logic that could declare hazardous/toxic substances at the component → substance level and seamlessly return ECHA confirmation fields back into SAP.

The main goals are to ensure seamless compliance with EPREL database regulations and set up a product data syndication process to distribute data to sales channels such as FAB-DIS, Amazon, and BMECat.

Key objectives:

  • Streamlining product data uploading and updating into the EPREL database via automated SAP Hybris integration.
  • Demonstrating commitment to regulatory standards through QR codes and labeling for EPREL compliance.

Project Results and Benefits:

Gepard PIM (by Bintime) delivered a connector for two-way data exchange to import products for EPREL and push back EPREL-generated labels, product fiches, and reports. The automation of EPREL datasheet generation reduces manual work for continuously updating and registering products. Gepard's solution enables Stiebel Eltron to effortlessly import and upload product data into the EPREL database, minimizing manual effort and potential errors.
