Our Story
Blue Oak Technology Solutions was started as many other businesses are formed – with a goal in mind. That goal centers around our desire to fill the need for professional level IT service and consultation for small and medium-sized businesses throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area. And, evidently, we’ve done OK at that so far as we continue to enjoy working with clients that started with us back in 2004!

Anecdotally, we are asked frequently about where the name of the company came from. Even though we are a technology company, we wanted something more natural in the name. Oak was chosen because oak trees and oak wood are solid, dependable – you can count on them to be there for years. Our son, when he was a toddler, carried around a blue plastic dinosaur everywhere he went for a long time and he called it ‘Blue’. So the two were combined; in the end, we landed, not generically on Blue Tree or weakly on Blue Pine or Blue Pear but with strength and longevity, and a bit of toddler input, on Blue Oak Technology Solutions.
