VR and AR development for training, education and product marketing

clear_pixel VR is a UK based XR development studio specialising in virtual reality and augmented reality solutions for education, enterprise, and industry.

We design and build immersive VR training simulations, interactive product demonstrations, and off the shelf learning platforms. Our work helps organisations train more effectively, demonstrate complex products without logistical constraints, and adopt XR technology with confidence.

Our platforms include PipetteSim, a VR laboratory training tool for biomedical science students, a Molecular Neuroscience simulation for university level practical education, and a Mouse Handling platform for ethical animal research training. These are deployed across universities and research institutions globally, providing students with safe, repeatable, hands on practice in fully simulated environments.

Our custom development service delivers bespoke VR and AR experiences built around a client’s specific workflows, equipment, and operational requirements. Recent work includes an interactive VR product demonstration for Dr. Mach GmbH & Co. KG, a surgical lighting manufacturer, enabling global sales teams to showcase equipment inside a virtual operating theatre without transporting physical systems.

Our XR strategy and deployment service supports organisations at every stage of adoption, from initial business case and technology selection through to enterprise device provisioning, MDM setup, and ongoing support.

clear_pixel VR was named Best HealthTech Application at the Wales Technology Awards 2024. We work with universities, research organisations, medical device manufacturers, and enterprise clients across the UK, Europe, and globally.

PipetteSim™ is a virtual reality training platform designed to teach accurate micropipette technique in a fully immersive, hands-on environment. Built for universities, research institutes, and training providers, it allows students and researchers to develop core laboratory skills independently before working with real equipment.

Users enter a realistic virtual lab where they can practise essential pipetting techniques, including volume selection, tip attachment, aspiration, and dispensing. The simulator supports both single and multi-channel pipettes and guides users through common protocols such as serial dilutions and plate preparation. Real-time feedback is provided at every step, helping users correct mistakes instantly and build proper technique through repetition.

Pipetting errors are a major source of experimental variability and wasted resources in life sciences. PipetteSim™ addresses this by offering unlimited, repeatable practice without the need for consumables, supervision, or lab access. Each session is consistent, controlled, and designed to reinforce best practice, allowing users to build confidence at their own pace.

The platform also includes automated performance tracking, giving instructors clear insight into user accuracy and readiness. This enables more informed decisions about when students are prepared to transition to real laboratory work.

Running on standalone VR headsets, PipetteSim™ can be used anywhere, from teaching labs to libraries or remote environments. The result is a scalable, cost-effective training solution that improves preparation, reduces errors, and enhances the overall quality of practical lab education.

Healthcare & Medical

Our company partnered with Dr. Mach GmbH & Co. KG to develop an immersive virtual reality product demonstration for their surgical lighting systems, designed to support sales and marketing teams in delivering engaging, hands-on experiences without the need for physical equipment.

The application places users inside a realistic virtual operating theatre, where they can interact directly with the surgical lights using natural hand movements. Users can reposition the light, explore its range of motion, and adjust key settings through a fully functional virtual control panel, including brightness, light field size, colour temperature, and specialist lighting modes. Each interaction provides immediate visual feedback, allowing users to understand how the product behaves in a real clinical environment.

Surgical lighting systems are typically large, complex, and difficult to transport, making traditional demonstrations costly and logistically challenging. This VR solution removes those barriers by enabling portable, repeatable demonstrations that can be delivered anywhere using standalone headsets.

Dr. Mach now uses the application across sales meetings, exhibitions, and distributor networks, ensuring a consistent and high quality product experience regardless of location. The result is improved customer engagement, clearer product understanding, and a more scalable approach to demonstrating complex medical equipment.

This project highlights how immersive technology can transform product demonstrations, particularly for industries where physical access, scale, and technical complexity present significant challenges.
