In 2020, we were in transition from in-house development to outsourcing all our development work. We posted this project on a popular freelancing platform to get a feel for the talent pool it provides and we came across InventorSoft. We hired them to help with our web application for Objective Structured Clinical Examinations. We started with one frontend developer, who was performing very well. So we decided to extend the team to 3 developers now: frontend, Backend and DevOps. Hard working frontend developers from Inventorsoft helped to develop and grow the E-Learning Platform for HealthCare workers.

We hired Inventorsoft to help with frontend development. Our education platform is written on vue.js and Inventorsoft is specializing in this technology. They helped to develop a lot of features like a broadcasting page, which is pretty complex and had the following features: group chat function, dynamic forms, and functionality related to video live broadcasting. Regarding the technology stack, we use HTML, javascript, CSS, Vue, Vuex, Nuxtjs and Lodash and on the backend, we use PHP and Laravel.
We are still working with Inventorsoft on multiple projects and have long-term plans for their developers. I think we have pretty good cooperation. Their management is always open to discussing issues in the team. And their developers are hard-working and good in terms of performance and quality.

- App Performance We found several places where the code was written incorrectly. Specifically, the platform loaded too much data, causing the site to lag. To address this, we refactored the code. - Network Throttling We reconfigured the network so that it made fewer requests for backup, thus reducing the amount of time a user would have to wait. - Migration We migrated the platform from Vue 2 to Vue 3, thus improving speed even further. - SEO We carefully optimized the SEO settings, including the site’s metadata, meta description, and meta title. - Acceleration of Performance Lighthouse Chunks are pieces of files that are loaded as they are used. To increase performance, we reduced their size so that they were able to load correctly. We also optimized all other file-loading processes. - User Management We created a page specifically for authorization as well as a dashboard page displaying user status, invoices, and options for support - CMS Conversion We ensured that the PM could construct the necessary components while also converting them into HTML. - Cookie Banner Development We developed a versatile cookie banner that can be easily integrated across multiple internal websites. It maintains a consistent design and behavior on all platforms. With a single setup, changes made to the banner automatically update everywhere, eliminating the need for additional coding and ensuring a uniform user experience. - Switch Support from Web Pack to Vite Vite and Webpack are very powerful build tools catering to distinct needs in modern JavaScript development. Observe is a robust observational assessment tool that was designed primarily for high-stake clinical skills assessment, such as Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCE, pronounced OSKEE) and Multi-Mini-Interviews (MMIs) for admission tests. These tools use video integration, making it possible to have a remote face-to-face interaction between the interviewers/examiners and the candidates. Besides data collection and recording of results, Observe also has features that enable psychometric analysis, multi-examiner / multi-location, and direct feedback delivery.

Our client tasked us with building the remote video parts of the examination analysis of the software. The main application of this tool was to make the remote assessment of medical students as seamless as possible and fully compatible with the on-site examinations. So, we had to build a tool that examiners, simulated patients/actors, and candidates can easily use without going through a lot of hassle.

With this project, the client tasked us with supporting and improving the functionalities that already existed. The most common service that we deliver is IT outstaffing when we provide our clients with developers to work directly under their manager/product owner. Also, we have technical expertise. We are working mostly with Java, .Net, and Node.js on the backend, and Angular, React, and Vue.js on the frontend.

Our HR Business partners enquire about feedback and client needs every month, just to make sure that we are providing the best service possible.

What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?
We designate HR Business partners for each client. HR Business Partner is responsible for solving any issues that may happen with developers or clients. Also, as a CTO I'm glad to consult our clients about technical questions if it’s needed or if we face some problems. Our company can help not only with development but with design, testing, and project management as well. Moreover, we are providing some clients with specific professionals, such as marketers, researchers, lead generators, etc. We are trying to cooperate and help our clients as much as possible.

Also in terms of successful cooperation, we are transparent about our goals and issues which developers are mentioning. We would definitely shout if we saw that project is moving in the wrong direction.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions, etc.)
We are working with 3 different pricing models.
  • Fixed price - we work under this model when the client has clear and detailed requirements and has a limited budget for the project.
  • Time & Material  (Hourly based model) - this model is mostly used for short-term and midterm projects when the client isn’t sure about his future plans.
  • Monthly - the most cost-effective model, which is used for long-term cooperation with clients. In this model, we cut our commissions, but expect a long notice period from the client. Frequently we use a Cost+ model when we share developers’ salaries, overhead, and our commission.

We aim to work on long-term projects, therefore the minimum budget that we are interested in starts from 10,000 $. However, it’s enough to take 1 developer full-time to start working with us.
