Back in Late 2025, a friend who ran a small business asked me to build him a better website. He had no online presence at all — no Google listing, nothing.

Two months after launching his new site, his phone was ringing three times as often. People were finding him on Google, filling out contact forms at midnight, calling from neighborhoods he'd never worked in before.

That was the moment everything clicked.

I realized that for local businesses, a website isn't just a digital business card — it's a 24/7 salesperson, a lead generator, a credibility builder.

So I started paying closer attention to what actually made the difference between websites that just "looked nice" and websites that actually brought in customers.

And it wasn't just design. It was structure, messaging, speed, SEO, and how clearly the site guided people toward taking action.

So I stopped thinking of it as just "web design."
