Perfsys partnered with UK-based startup i Got This! to develop an investor-ready AI mental health assistant MVP powered by Amazon Bedrock. Founded by Ann Watson, a solo founder driven by personal experience in education and caregiving, the mission was to create an empathetic, secure, and scalable AI assistant that helps users manage stress, anxiety, and emotional wellbeing.

The project aimed to balance AI innovation with data protection and user safety — essential for mental health applications. Perfsys built the MVP in three agile phases, transitioning from a third-party avatar prototype to a fully serverless AWS architecture.

Key achievements include:

  • 90% cost reduction by decoupling avatar UI from AI logic and migrating to AWS Bedrock

  • A scalable, investor-friendly stack using Amplify, Cognito, API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3/CloudFront, and Bedrock

  • Ethical AI design with Bedrock guardrails for self-harm and suicide prevention

  • Personalized user sessions using Cognito metadata for context-aware AI responses

The resulting product not only delivered a functional and secure MVP but also positioned the startup as investor-ready with a clear roadmap for scaling.
