Prometeus

It all started simple enough. We opened our doors in 1997, with a single server used to host websites for some of our clients. Prometeus, and the Internet, have came a long, long way since that day - but one thing remains the same, our dedication to customer satisfaction!

In the same year, we registered the IperWeb domain to use for the web hosting business and on December 10th, 1997, IperWeb was incorporated in the USA as IperWeb L.L.C.

We are focused solely on high-quality, high-reliability Web services and professional consulting. Our network and servers are tuned specifically for maximum performance, and our policies ensure that we remain as efficient as possible. Note that we don’t provide Web design, marketing, or other value-added services. We leave these specialties to our resellers, and concentrate solely on Web hosting.

From time to time we use servers located throughout the world, but since 2008 we have decided to only use our own network and infrastructure. At the beginning of the 2009 we applied with RIPE to obtain Provider Independent (PI) IPv4 and IPv6 network addressing and our own Autonomous System (AS34971). Since April 2012 we are a Local Internet Registry (LIR) and a member of the RIPE NCC.

Since the second half of 2006, while maintaining the focus to budget and quality hosting, we started offering virtualized services (Xen, KVM and Vmware) and expanded our infrastructure to include a high performance, high reliable SAN infrastructure and multiple 10gbps connections.
