Describe your project in brief

We engaged Shenzhen Bohuan to design and engineer a suite of hardware devices capable of collecting detailed environmental performance data (including electricity, water, gas usage, and emissions output) from supplier manufacturing sites. These devices needed to seamlessly integrate with our cloud-based platform, be scalable across thousands of suppliers worldwide, and operate in diverse factory conditions. Shenzhen Bohuan supported us from initial concept and prototype, all the way to small-batch production and field testing in Europe and Southeast Asia.

What is it about the company that you appreciate the most?

What stood out most was their balance of technical excellence and user-centered problem-solving. Their engineers were not only skilled, but also curious , asking the right questions about how our clients would use the product, and designing accordingly. Their ability to adapt quickly to field-based feedback gave us confidence at every stage of the rollout.

What was it about the company that you didn't like which they should do better?

There were minor moments during early prototyping where timezone differences created slight communication lags, particularly in early-stage design iterations. However, once workflows were aligned, these issues were minimal and well-managed.

The goal was to bring to life a set of Bluetooth-enabled cases and sensor-integrated protective tools that could enhance our product offering and align with AKKO's mission of redefining device protection. The project required precision, reliable sourcing, and high standards of quality to meet our product performance and aesthetic goals.

What is it about the company that you appreciate the most?

Their ability to bridge the gap between design and manufacturing , they didn't just follow instructions but actively helped us solve manufacturing challenges, making them feel more like a partner than a vendor.

What was it about the company that you didn't like which they should do better?

If we had to choose one thing, it would be the initial delay in aligning on packaging materials , it took a couple of iterations to find the right balance between durability and cost. That said, once we flagged the issue, the team was quick to resolve it.
