The project was integrate different software tools to work as a one unique interface for our clients. We have softswtich the standard interface was not enough for our business and services that we provide. We needed more user friendly easy for our clients where it gives more functionality. We were able to integrate with our crm tool which as quite complex. Integration of services PHP development API integration Frontend development was done with 1 project manager + 2 developers in very short time.
It made for us easier management and for our clients it was easier control and understanding all system. From the very beginning of the project, SoftLoft provided the very highest levels of project management and technical expertise. Every aspect of development was always handled with care and consideration, while allowing me to stay in constant communication with the actual developers and project managers.
Response time & commitment of team was great. Excellent job.

A Photographer's Website by SoftLoft

Olena Lavrenyuk
posted on 16/7/18
The goal of cooperation with SoftLoft was to develop a full featured website for my photography business. SoftLoft was asked not only to setup a CMS (Wordpress) and customize a theme for my design but also to tune it for my needs: SEO, social media, CRM, eCommerce integration. The SoftLoft team communicated a lot, dived into molecular level of details and delivered everything according to our agreed plan. SoftLoft guys know their job, they asked many proper questions and were flexible: we discussed project at a time, that was suitable for me (I am a mother of two). They understood my needs well and I could just rely on them for all their web experience. I heard many bad stories about how IT companies work but their attitude was just perfect for me from the very beginning, and in fact the results of their work also exceeded my expectations. It is a real pleasure for me to work SoftLoft.

What is it about the company that you appreciate the most?

I enjoyed the way they treated me with full care and attention, like I was a big VIP customer for them.

What was it about the company that you didn't like which they should do better?

I would advise them to improve the way small businesses could approach them easier.

Very high quality Magento 2 and ERP developers

John Canetta

We had recently migrated from M1 to M2 (a medium sized site that has a lot of customization) with another agency. It was an awful experience. They lacked in everything but communication, needless to say we switched to Softloft. The quality of their developers is excellent. Our initial project lasted 4 months and they worked effectively in Jira.

Our site speed and functionality improved dramatically. They are an excellent Magento agency. In addition they enhanced our custom ERP. This was not an easy task but over a short time they executed effectively. My only regret is that I did not find and hire them sooner. I would highly recommend them.

What is it about the company that you appreciate the most?

Their workflow is excellent within Jira. They have very smart developers that can solve difficult tasks.

What was it about the company that you didn't like which they should do better?

Communication between CEO & PM...at times we were not on the same page because they all work remotely.

Online store for Homeware and Lingerie products

I’ve worked with SoftLoft to develop an online store for Peony – Homeware and Lingerie products.
https://www.peony-store.com/
SoftLoft has developed a new website based on Magento 2 technology, with an attractive and responsive design which is absolutely suitable for mobile shopping. The platform was integrated with the API of the biggest delivery operator and a product aggregator marketplace number 1 in Ukraine.
A great job has been done on the SEO optimization of the project. A lot of customization and specific work on details have been delivered a due course.
In addition to this SoftLoft team appeared to be extremely communicative, responsive and helpful. Their technical advice, training, and support brought a great value and made it possible to launch of the project in short terms.
I will recommend SoftLoft to develop your next eCommerce project without any doubt.

Optimal price-service-ratio and a very professional company

D
posted on 27/2/18
We are a company from Germany. We already had an Magento installation, and needed a new design and updates. We were trying out different Magento specialist from different countries like Germany, Poland and India. Often they were to expensive, the quality or communication was to bad.

The next step was to try out Magento Developers from Ukraine. So we started to contact different company in Ukraine. We compared them with different factors. In the End we decided us for Soft-Loft, because they had reference shops that were working very good. So we asked for an offer.

The new design which was offered was nice, just little changes were needed and they were done fast and professional. Some better than expected. The Project took a bit longer that expected, but we also hat additional Tasks for them, so that was fine for us.

All tasks were done professional, the communication was in english over Email, Skypechat and Skypecalls. Overall everything was done fine and in a very good price-service-ratio. Good quality for a fair price.

I was told by an SAP developer that we have very high quality standards in Germany. Even in website development and not everybody can serve that. He confirmed me that the work is done with a high quality.

We are still working with Soft-Loft and adding new features to our Website. When we have an Idea they realize it.

Less than Subpar work for top-dollar

Christian S

We are DroiX and we have hired Soft-Loft to migrate our Products from Magento 1.9 to Magento 2 and apply and modify a theme (To match our brand look) we have already bought, add a few extensions and have our blog and how-to built-in.

The idea was to make the platform look updated, and as we have already built an online platform ourselves with no developers or designers (Google it – it's the .net website) we have an idea how it should look and how much time/resources this would take, (Basically, porting only the products and installing a couple (3) extensions we have purchased)

The start of a project is perfect (You are shown documentation, informed that you can track the work done via a git repo, you are being invited into a Slack channel where you get updates and an MVP is provided - everything seems to be going great, and you are under the false sense of security while you are being presented with the illusion that your money are well spent).

You are being given an estimate of $40/Hour (Which is fair for the type of service they claim to provide/company they try to portray) However: The service, professionalism and the quality of work are similar to a $100-200 freelancer off any freelancing website. (Take your pick – Your money will be better spent) As a “test build” we have hired a freelancer with the same Requirements Document and we have gotten the job Soft-Loft have done for $2900 for $250

Unlike any other standard “negative review” - We would like to assume part of the fault: We have believed their promise (Shown on the Company’s Profile) of “Hiring only the best Magento development experts, we offer a full 100% money back guarantee – if a provided solution doesn’t meet your quality standards, it doesn’t meet ours!” and fell for their illusion of a professional company/CEO, experienced developers, designers and project managers.

The first part of a project with Soft-Loft is the MVP (Minimum Viable Product), where you will be providing, you’re a list of your requirements. Here is where our problems began without us even knowing.

As an e-commerce company with over 7 years in the Business, we have cooperated with many developers, and whilst even a small team would understand that an MVP encompass a functional platform, Soft-Loft would disagree here. Soft-Loft takes the MVP verbatim (letter for letter disregarding any common-sense), and the outcome platform will be an MVP approximately 15% completed.

We (DroiX) have agreed with Soft-Loft that we will purchase a theme, and provide them with documentation that would illustrate all the changes and improvements to the already designed/coded theme. Install a few extensions and integrate our Blog and How-To

The theme can be found here: https://martfury05.magebig.com/ or by Googling Martfury 05 MageBig as TrustPilot doesn’t allow links – Do contact us and we will happily share everything

2/2

After $2900 and almost 3 months later this is what we have:

https://droix.soft-loft.com/ (The attached link is hosted on soft-loft's domain, if it’s not available at the time of the reading, contact us and we will happily share their “progress” in form of Screenshots) - As you can see, we have gotten the theme we purchased, with our products, a few extensions installed and a changed colour.

During the MVP, as we have provided all the changes and improvements, we wanted we have been told that it will go over the MVP budget, so they must be added to the next phase.

After we have gotten the link for the website with soft-loft's claim that it’s “Done”. We could not believe what it has been presented and we have asked for a report of time spent – Which you can find at: https://imgur.com/a/zra21ei - This will fully illustrate the type of service they offer “9 hours = $360 for Home page modifications” - No modifications have been done - Almost 4 hours for Menu/Footer updates – As you can see, there are NONE – The “ready” website still contains references/content from the Theme.

Now, here it comes when we have brought it up to Petr Datsko (Their CEO) and another lot of issues arose

Needless to say (As it has already been mentioned) - The professionalism is not in the discussion. Not that we are trying to march the “Client is always right” approach, but the rudeness with which we have been treated and the feeling of being cheated were very strong. He did not (After hours of communications – Again: Feel free to get in touch with us, we are willing to share our whole communications) even consider listening to us, and adamantly claimed that the way our money have been spent is not our problem, as long as they have completed a few points from the Requirement Document.

On a closing note, after almost a month since we have gotten the website and thinking this through, we don’t want this review to come off as Desperate or as a cry for attention, we have made our peace that we won’t see the money and that we have wasted our time with this company. But we really don’t want someone else to end up in the same situation we did.

Signed,

DroiX Management – Eugene and Cristian

Dedicated Development Support

Having moved to SoftLoft after being with an unreliable Magento development company for many years, they have gone above and beyond to support us during a difficult time. We endured many issues with our website due to multiple third party changes, with no handover from our previous dev team, the SoftLoft dev team along with their project managers worked hard and efficiently for us.

They went above and beyond on the turn of a dime for us, being available 24/7. The relationship with a project manager is integral and the communication and attention to detail from them is great.

Executive Interview
Petr Datsko
Petr Datsko
CEO, SoftLoft
Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the company?
My name is Petr Datsko, and I’m the founder and current CEO of SOFTLOFT. We’re a leading Magento development company based in Ukraine in the top 2 from GoodFirms.

We’ve focused our skills in a full range of Magento development services such as Magento Consulting and Audit, Development, Magento integration with 3d part systems (ERP, CRM), Migration from Magento 1 to Magento 2.

We provide a full range of Magento development services Magento Consulting and Audit, Development, Magento integration with 3d part systems (ERP, CRM), Migration from Magento 1 to Magento 2.

We have a great and talented team of certified developers located in three offices over Ukraine.

Have representative offices in the UK and Denmark. For 2020 going to open offices in the USA and Australia.
Mention the objectives or the parameters critical in determining the time frame of developing an ecommerce app.
I think the requirements define it. First of all, the team should exactly understand what should be done, what the store is about, what are the partner's goals and achievements, etc.

Based on this, we can define the level of project complexity and time frames. But once again, in the correct time frame, results are very focused and the result of careful and painstaking work of the team in close cooperation with a partner.
How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of an ecommerce app?
It depends on the project. Sometimes it is enough to use Magento default features; then, it could be 75/25 (frontend/backend). In many cases, there could be a high level of customization and integration. Then this rate could be changed to 80/20 (backend/frontend). But we have projects where backend work is 99 percent of our efforts.
What is your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/outsourcing?
We focus on developing only in-house teams. We invest a lot of time, effort, and finances into the skills and motivation of our team and certification.
We would like to keep full control under the delivery process and the client’s relationships, so at this moment, we consider only in-house teams.
How is your business model beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?
First of all, we don’t have clients; we have partners. And each project we work with we consider like our own. It is our baby, where we are responsible for his life.
We build long term relationships. Usually, partners continue with us for the long term. We prefer to deliver instead of a promise. And be very transparent and honest with our partners (whatever this costs for us). We never put profit before quality and relationships.
What industries do you cater to? Are your clients repetitive?
We are taking care of many different industries, fashion, customer goods, luxury, perfumes, automotive, machinery, and equipment. We are taking care of such clients like HM, Victoria Secret, MotherCare, Foot Locker, SweetDeal, Essential. And we are proud to be part of this success story.
What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for an ecommerce application?
We mostly focus on Magento, and here some of my recommendations on how to choose the platform:
  • Things to consider when choosing a technology stack:
  • The first consideration is what talent do you have. If you have an existing technology team, and you’re not looking to completely replace them, your options have to be limited in your path that you choose. There are adequate e-commerce platforms for most technology stacks. We are advocates for protecting your team and culture to support the scale, so start with your available skillset.
  • Have a simple sales model with a basic ecommerce funnel? You probably should look at Shopify or BigCommerce as your focus will likely be building your brand and marketing activities to drive sales. Have a complex sales funnel, possibly subscriptions, maybe direct to consumer and wholesale sales? Now you’re talking about Magento's sweet spot;  any type of complex sales funnel or sales process is not best supported by a SaaS platform.
  • If you need control over fields, statuses, and workflow in your e-commerce platform instead of being in a shipping platform or ERP, Magento offers open-source technology with full customization capabilities.
  • Budget is a factor of cost of building, maintenance, and ongoing cost of operations.  If you’re not used to making an investment in ongoing support and feature development within an e-commerce platform, Magento may take a second to get used to.
Which Content Management System do you prefer to use (Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal etc)?
We use native Magento management system. Additionally, you can use Magento PageBuilder or Magesuite. For some projects, upon customer architecture requests, we use Drupal.
What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of an ecommerce application?
We execute a deep audit and consulting of the partner’s business in areas such as:
How big is their business, and what are their ambitions for ecommerce?
Do they already have something, or should it be built from scratch?
How complicated should the functionality be?
If there any additional integrations, restrictions, and customization?
How fast should the project go into production?

It is very individual, and there are no standard patterns because each business and client’s needs could be very different.

We deeply investigate how business works, what partners expect to have, their ideas, and wishes. Then after detailed research and analytics, we come back with a report and different options on how it can be done. Partners may choose what fits their requirements the best. After this, we create very detailed and transparent quotations and project plans.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay-per-feature, fixed-cost, pay-per-milestone (could be in phases, months, versions, etc.).
It could be different for different clients. Usually, there are the following models:
  • Fixed price-per-project: upfront and then pay-per-milestone (defined in the project plan)
  • Time and Material: especially if this existing projects which could come to us full of bugs
  • Fixed price-per-month: in this case partner hires developers for full-time (outstaffing model)
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
There is no minimum budget because we consider each partner individually. But, though Magento is very powerful, an advanced and complicated system requires a high-quality development team. From my experience, I can say that the minimum budget for Magento usually starts at 15000 USD.
What do you think is the future of the ecommerce industry?
It has a great future. I believe that in the next 10 years, we will have most of the transactions in the world done online. In Ukraine, a few years ago, people were scared to buy online, but now it is so common that most of my friends cannot say exactly when they last visited an offline store.
Kindly share your feedback on how GoodFirms has been doing so far in increasing your visibility among potential clients.
Everything is fine. They provide a clear and transparent review and rating system. And if you work hard and build relationships with your partners, you can get top positions.
