Softworks Group

Softworks Group Inc. is a privately held Canadian corporation, incorporated in 1990. Our founder, Tim Edlund, continues to lead the organization as our CEO.Softworks began as a custom software development house, writing applications for a wide range of industries. As our company grew and opportunity for global reach increased, we narrowed our focus to two markets: healthcare and licensing bodies.

By 2005, our focus was shifting from custom development to software products. For licensing bodies, we developed Alinity™—an enterprise solution for self-regulated professions. On the healthcare side, we developed WebSMR, our first synoptic reporting tool, developed in collaboration with our partner Cancer Surgery Alberta. WebSMR went on to be implemented in 5 provinces in Canada. WebSMR was eventually replaced by the Synoptec™ Clinical Documentation System which is a more comprehensive product addressing a broad range of specialties as well as patient engagement and clinic management requirements.
