Our company’s story starts in 2008, when founder Dan Starnes purchased a struggling community newspaper for $10. It was in the middle of the great recession.

Within a few short years, Starnes Media grew from one paper to seven, covering Homewood, Hoover, Mountain Brook, Vestavia Hills, the 280 corridor and Birmingham proper.
