What Users Like The Most

  • They were always just an email or phonecall away, and happy to answer any questions or assist with research, even if it was somewhat outside of the initial scope. They worked swiftly, transparently, and with a great sense of collaboration.
  • Their flexibility and impact values alignment.
  • Their ability to take complicated material. In our case, a procurement report and a chatbot interface, and present it in a way that is intuitive and accessible. Communication was smooth throughout, and they delivered on time.

  • I'd love even more proactive suggestions during the process, but this is a minor point.

A reliable, detail-oriented design partner that makes complex information genuinely accessible.

In over 15 years of working with creative professionals, The Ethical Agency stands out as one of the finest design firms I've encountered. Their work on our procurement report and chatbot design demonstrated both technical skill and a real understanding of our audiences. They're reliable, detail-oriented, and have a genuine talent for translating complex information into something clear and engaging. They'll be my first call next time, and I'd recommend them without hesitation.

Overview: The National Business Initiative (NBI) is a cornerstone of South Africa’s collective action movement, driving sustainable development and socio-economic change. The Ethical Agency (TEA) was commissioned to execute a comprehensive, multi-phase rebranding and strategic design overhaul to align the NBI’s visual identity with its status as a global leader in the ESG and sustainability landscape.

The Challenge: Despite its immense influence, the NBI’s legacy brand architecture had become fragmented. The visual identity lacked the "Investor-Grade" authority required to engage high-level corporate stakeholders and global policy-makers in 2026. The objective was to transition the NBI from a traditional NGO aesthetic to a modern, strategic catalyst, balancing technical precision with emotive storytelling.

The Strategy & Creative Execution: TEA initiated a "Discovery & Truth" phase, interviewing key stakeholders to define a brand narrative centred on "Collective Action."

  • Brand Architecture: We simplified a complex sub-brand ecosystem into a unified, high-authority visual language.

  • Visual Identity: The new logo represents intersectionality and growth, utilising a nature-inspired yet professional colour palette that signals both environmental stewardship and corporate stability.

  • Cinematic Transparency: We introduced a high-end photography and iconographic style that visualises "Verified Impact," moving away from generic stock imagery to authentic, on-the-ground documentation.

Technical Rigour (The TEA Standard): True to our 150-point technical framework, all digital assets were built for performance and accessibility.

  • Digital-First Guidelines: We developed a comprehensive brand portal ensuring consistency across report design, social media, and digital infrastructure.

  • Accessibility (WCAG 2.1): All typographic and colour selections were audited to ensure inclusivity for all stakeholders, including those using assistive technologies.

Healthcare & Medical

The rebranding of Lancet Laboratories by The Ethical Agency represents a masterclass in balancing clinical heritage with 2026’s digital-first, ethical standards. As a leading pathology provider, Lancet required a visual identity signalling scientific precision and approachable care. Leveraging our 111.7 B Corp authority, we transformed the brand into a unified, high-authority entity.

1. Logo Evolution: We refined the Lancet logo into a minimalist mark that retains legacy trust while ensuring legibility. Engineered for "Visual Elasticity", it remains sharp and authoritative whether on a microscopic slide, a smartphone screen, or a laboratory facade.

2. Colour & Typography: We introduced a sophisticated "Trust-Blue" palette with vibrant secondary tones to avoid clinical coldness. This is paired with a bespoke typographic system focused on WCAG 2.1 accessibility, ensuring critical medical information is easily readable by all patients.

3. Brand Guidelines: We developed exhaustive guidelines to serve as a "Source of Truth". This ensures total continuity across all territories, from logo exclusion zones to tonal voice, allowing Lancet’s teams to execute high-end design consistently.

4. Stationery & Assets: All corporate stationery and marketing collateral were redesigned with functional elegance. Where physical production was required, we prioritised sustainable, low-impact materials aligned with our B Corp values.

5. Vehicle Branding: Lancet’s fleet is a vital touchpoint. We developed a high-visibility branding system that turns every mobile unit into a professional brand ambassador, synonymous with efficiency and reliability on the road.

6. Website (In Development): The digital transformation culminates in a high-performance, low-carbon website. Built on a "Clean Code" framework, this hub will prioritise UX for patients and doctors alike, mirroring the laboratory's own technical excellence.

At The Ethical Agency, we engineer WordPress ecosystems that balance high-end design with sustainability. As a B Corp with a score of 111.7, based in Cape Town and London, we turn your mission into a high-performance, low-carbon digital home. We create future-proof assets that lead in the 2026 GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) landscape.

1. Strategic Wireframing & Architecture

Every project begins with a deep dive into information architecture. We craft strategic wireframes as a digital blueprint. This phase prioritises logical content flow, clear conversion paths, and a seamless user journey. By mapping out the structure early, we ensure the final product is built for purpose and engineered for maximum stakeholder engagement.

2. UX & UI Design

Our UX design merges award-winning aesthetics with rigorous accessibility (WCAG 2.1). We create engaging, intuitive interfaces that resonate with conscious audiences. From bespoke typography to ethical colour theory, every element reflects your brand's maturity and ESG values. We focus on "Human-Centric Design," ensuring your site is inclusive and visually stunning across global markets.

3. WordPress Development

We specialise in "clean code" WordPress builds. We avoid the "bloat" of traditional templates, opting for custom, scalable solutions that reduce the site's digital weight. This technical precision ensures lightning-fast load speeds and a lower carbon footprint. Our code is structured to be "extractable" by AI search agents, giving your brand a competitive advantage in conversational results.

4. Green Hosting & Maintenance

Post-launch, your site is hosted on 100% renewable-powered servers. As partners of the Green Web Foundation, we ensure your digital presence is truly eco-friendly. Our maintenance packages provide proactive support and speed optimisation. We monitor performance and energy use 24/7, ensuring your site remains secure and carbon-efficient as a mission-led leader.

At The Ethical Agency, our report design process merges high-end aesthetics with audited data integrity. As a B Corp with a score of 111.7, we specialise in transforming complex ESG, Sustainability, and Annual Reports into engaging, "Truth-first" narratives for stakeholders in Cape Town and London.

1. Design Concept & Creative Direction
We establish a visual theme aligned with your brand’s impact goals. This defines the typography, colour palette, and grid systems that carry your mission through the document, ensuring the design feels as authoritative as the data it contains.

2. Infographics & Data Visualisation
We turn technical data into high-authority infographics. We focus on information hierarchy, ensuring metrics like carbon footprints or social ROI are easily "extractable" for human readers and AI analysts. We simplify complexity without losing nuance.

3. Photography & Asset Management
Visual authenticity is critical. We provide photography management and ethical art direction. Managing shoots in SA and the UK or sourcing low-carbon assets, we ensure every image reinforces your real-world impact and avoids "greenwashing" cliches.

4. Navigation & Digital UX
We implement advanced navigation for digital reports, including an interactive table of contents, cross-linking, and WCAG 2.1 compliance. We ensure reports are inclusive and easy to traverse on any device.

5. Revisions & Collaborative Refinement
We manage revisions with rigour. Using collaborative loops, we ensure stakeholders are aligned. This iterative phase is seamless, maintaining creative integrity while ensuring every data point is verified and every edit is precisely executed.

6. Exports & Multi-Format Rollout
We deliver high-performance, interactive digital PDFs, web-optimised summaries for GEO visibility, and print-ready files, all managed via eco-friendly procurement. Our process ensures your report is future-proof and sets the benchmark in your sector.
