Tomedes is a language service provider specialized in translation, localization, and interpretation services. We also provide other services within the realm of communication such as content and digital solutions. The company was founded in 2007 in Israel as a traditional translation company and has since become a highly reputed language and business service provider around the world. Though a tech-forward company, our focus is always on human connection.
As the CEO of Tomedes, I ensure members of the organization have all the resources they need to provide quality solutions for clients large and small. It is also my mission to facilitate the growth of the company. Therefore, I seek out creative solutions to ensure every type of language need is met.

What is the story behind starting this company?
I have a background in engineering and worked for a long time with a global telecommunications company before establishing two startups myself. This led me to truly understand the difficulties clients in my native Israel and around the world have in obtaining streamlined B2B solutions and transparent customer services. At this time, companies were also looking to make their mark on the international scene, and translation was in obvious need. Tomedes was created to simplify the growth process for organizations worldwide. Our model is therefore based on the perfect blend of affordability, high quality, and rapid delivery of various language services. These commitments are upheld by the entire Tomedes team today as we help industries of all kinds reach their global goals.
What are your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
In the post-Covid era, we have seen more companies adopt remote and hybrid policies after seeing how beneficial they have been for their team. As a remote-first company for the past fifteen years, Tomedes can attest to the advantages of this type of work model. Flexibility improves productivity and profitability as well as promotes a healthy work-life balance. Building a strong relationship with our teams and adapting to their needs has always been one of Tomedes’ main goals. So, we were a remote company before, and we will continue to be in the future.
How does your company differentiate itself from the competition?
At Tomedes, we have a deep respect for the competition and have a lot to learn from them. However, our focus is on the client and what we can do to best meet their complex language demands. Through continuous learning and willingness to adapt to any type of need, we aim to provide optimal language services and solutions. This includes improving our workflows and processes as well as being receptive to customer inquiries and specifications. We may not always know in advance exactly what is required for our clients, which is why we work with them every step of the way to develop a solution that perfectly meets their expectations. We believe in transparent communication with all our clients, which includes payment information. Therefore, prices are clearly identified; quotes can be easily calculated, as they are based on the project type or language service request. Translation and localization services are determined according to word count. For consulting, content, and other digital services, we offer straightforward hourly rates that our clients can easily refer to.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
Tomedes does not set a minimum for any of our projects: they can range anywhere from just a few dollars to millions. Because each language solution is unique, every price reflects that. For example, we can translate one word into forty languages, or we can translate 40,000 words into one language. It really depends on the needs of the client. I remember the very first project Tomedes was hired for…it was 90 cents! And honestly, I was as excited as one can be.

Efficient and very good customer service

Tomedes, has not once disappointed me nor my recommended clients with the translation projects. Since the first project in 2020 I can say with confidence that they are trusted and reliable translating firm.

I like the time efficiency, quality of work and the support services (truly 24/7)!
What was it about the company that you didn't like which they should do better?
Some countries require notarized translations, also regarded as certificate of sworn translator. Perhaps this can be achieved by employing sworn translators to certify/verify the projects and issue the certificate of sworn translation. May be a long shot but will be an advantage in case certain projects require this.
