Jim began his career as a technology consultant. After working as a consultant for Systemation, an information technology consulting firm, Jim took on different sales and management roles within the company. He remained at Systemation for 10 years until the company was acquired by Cap Gemini Sogeti, a prominent technology solutions and consulting firm, in 1991. Jim served as general manager of Cap Gemini Sogeti for six years. He led the company’s business unit in Michigan, and turned Cap Gemini Sogeti’s money-losing Detroit operation into a profitable one. In addition, he was instrumental in opening a new Cap Gemini Sogeti office in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
