Summary
High-volume data transformations for regulatory reporting at a major Dutch bank, with metadata-driven source-to-target mapping, workflow orchestration, and a full migration from on-premise to Azure.
The Challenge
Rabobank faces complex regulatory reporting requirements mandated by Dutch and EU financial regulators. Data from multiple source systems must be transformed and dynamically mapped to target reporting formats, a process involving high volumes, complex mappings, and strict accuracy requirements.
The Solution
Embedded with the Rabobank team across a multi-year engagement to develop and maintain a data transformation platform. Built metadata management for dynamic source-to-target mapping across multiple source systems, workflow orchestration, and data staging and optimization. Migrated from on-premise servers to Azure. Built and maintained CI-CD pipelines with automated security scanning.
The Results
Rabobank's regulatory reporting team gained a reliable, auditable platform for high-volume data transformations. Metadata-driven configuration replaced manual coordination. The Azure-native architecture supports the bank's scale requirements, and the Agile DevOps delivery model enables continuous improvement as regulatory requirements evolve.
Tablet-optimized fleet management platform for one of the largest commercial fleets in the U.S., with custom KPI dashboards, dynamic forms, document and inventory management, and workflow automation.
The Challenge
AT&T operates one of the largest commercial fleets in the United States. Managing vehicles, forms, documents, inventory, and KPI reporting at that scale required a purpose-built system optimized for field workers and managers using tablets throughout the workday. Off-the-shelf fleet management tools could not handle the complexity of AT&T's workflows or the volume of dynamically created forms.
The Solution
Led a team of four developers and one tester across a multi-year engagement to build MyFleet, a tablet-optimized web application with user-managed custom dashboards and KPI widgets, dynamically created online forms, document management, inventory management, and workflow automation. The system handled high volumes of users and transactions daily.
The Results

Custom KPI widgets provide real-time visibility into fleet performance. Dynamic forms eliminated the need for separate form-building tools.
Web application used by the national benefits administration team to manage health care plans across all U.S. markets, with complex multi-field forms, bulk mass-update workflows, and multi-market plan management.
The Challenge
Kaiser Permanente needed to manage health care plans and benefits across all of its markets. The national benefits administration team required a tool that could handle complex plan details, enable search from any field, and support bulk updates when plan changes needed to roll out across multiple markets and plan years simultaneously.
The Solution
Led a team of one to two developers alongside Kaiser Permanente employees across a multi-year engagement to build and maintain PlanBuilder+. The application features complex multi-field forms for plan details, full-text search across any field, and mass-update workflows for bulk changes across markets and plan years. Migrated CI-CD from Jenkins to GitHub Actions with YAML pipelines.
The Results
Kaiser Permanente's national benefits team gained a single platform for managing plan complexity at scale. Bulk updates that previously required touching plans individually across markets and plan years now execute in a single operation, reducing the time and risk associated with annual plan changes.
Mobile and tablet-optimized web application UI/UX design enabling one-click onboarding of new airmen, replacing manual multi-form processes with pre-filled fields, automated PDF generation, and Department of Defense-wide routing for approvals and signatures.
The Challenge
Onboarding new airmen into the U.S. Air Force required filling out numerous forms with redundant information, then manually routing completed forms for approvals and signatures across multiple departments within the Department of Defense. The process was slow, error-prone, and frustrating for both new recruits and administrators.
The Solution
Designed a mobile and tablet-optimized web application for one-click onboarding of airmen. Common fields are pre-filled across forms so airmen enter information once. Field validation catches errors before submission. A single form submission generates multiple PDFs, and built-in workflows route submitted PDF forms for approvals and signatures throughout the Department of Defense. A dashboard tracks form routing status in real time.
The Results
What previously took airmen and administrators hours of redundant data entry became a streamlined, one-click process. Pre-filled fields and validation eliminated errors, automated routing replaced manual form distribution, and the status dashboard gave administrators real-time visibility into where every form stands in the approval chain.

Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the company?
I own Volare Systems, and as the owner, I do a little bit of everything. We are a web and mobile app development and custom software development company located in Denver, Colorado. We build high-quality apps that run fast and look great on every device.
What was the idea behind starting this organization?
I was Vice President of a similar software consulting company in Austin, Texas, and we wanted to move to Colorado, so my wife and I started Volare Systems. Our goal is to delight our customers.
What is your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
Volare Systems typically provides turnkey software solutions, where we provide project managers, developers, testers, and support people. But we can also work side-by-side with the client and provide people as needed for a blended delivery team.
How is your business model beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?
We focus on quality so the client gets a software solution that will be useful for a long time. We work with senior U.S.-based developers, so there are no time zone issues and fewer communication problems.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive?
We are not limited to working with specific sectors, but we have worked a lot with marketing, human resources, education, manufacturing, and fleet management. Our customers work in all kinds of industries. It is definitely not repetitive!
Mention the objectives or the parameters critical in determining the time frame of developing software.
We look at the number of and complexity of the screens and processes to provide estimates of the project duration.
How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of software?
Every project is different, but most of our clients are asking for richer front ends these days, so we are coding 60-75% front end and 40-25% back end lately.
What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right framework for developing software?
Some clients have strong preferences that dictate the tools we will use to build their software, and they want to support the software solution with their current people who know those tools. Other clients don’t have a framework preference, and in those cases, we decide based on the best fit for their situation.
Which languages & frameworks do you prefer to use in development of software?
We are a Microsoft Partner, so for back-end coding, we specialize in the Microsoft stack, which is .NET Core, ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server, and Azure cloud services. For front-end development, we specialize in HTML5, CSS3, SASS, Bootstrap, VueJS, ReactJS, and building progressive web applications.
What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of software?
We figure out the team size needed and the monthly cost for that team, then estimate the number of months it will take to build the solution with that size team.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
We charge by the hour and invoice monthly.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
We don’t take projects with a budget of less than $25,000.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2018?
We have a broad range. We have worked on projects from $25,000 and to several million dollars.
