Inuvika OVD Enterprise Executive Interview

We've just created our listing profile on GoodFirms and it would be too early to comment on this.
I am Kevin Gallagher, CEO of Inuvika and one of the founders of our company. We were incorporated in 2014. Inuvika is an enterprise digital workspace software company. Our product is perfectly positioned for the new hybrid work and learning environments, giving users secure access to their apps from anywhere. We embrace the zero-trust principle, widening usability, as BYOD has surged again in recent years. We have eliminated complexity for admin, provided a better user experience and lowered the total cost of ownership by up to 50% when compared to the big players in the market. We are now selling in over 40 countries and continuing to grow quickly.
The traditional legacy products in this space were Citrix and VMware. At the time we started, one to one VDI was still the norm and we knew that users really just wanted access to their apps. In the vast majority of cases, they did not need the full virtualized desktop. We also knew that the cost of full VDI was holding back adoption in most of the world. So, we set about to build a Linux based product that could deliver Windows and Linux apps, eliminate a lot of Microsoft licensing and require less infrastructure overall. We knew that the market was waiting for an alternative to Citrix or VMware. We also knew that if we were going to sell in some parts of the world where technical skills may not be as high as in other parts, that we had to find a way to simplify the product to make it accessible.
Our product reduces the Total Cost of Ownership (“TCO”) by up to 50%. We generally require half of the server capacity of virtual desktop alternatives, most Microsoft server licenses are not required (since we are built on Linux) and our subscription price is significantly lower than alternatives like Citrix of VMware Horizon Apps. In addition to that, while long and expensive certification courses are required to properly administer the products of our large competitors, we can train admins to be experts on our product in less than a day. So ultimately, we are a very good alternative to Citrix or VMware Horizon Apps. With both of our major competitors recently being purchased and a lot of internal changes happening, including price increases at Citrix, we find ourselves sitting in a very good spot as customers look for a Citrix replacement.
Our product can be used in any industry. That said, we have a lot of customers in healthcare, education and government. We have a great team in our development department that can spend an hour or two on custom work, if necessary, to get a very old app to work from the cloud where other’s cannot. So this comes into play a lot with financial or manufacturing companies. I should mention that we have a lot of customers who are just in a regular office environment as well…and many of those now have a hybrid workplace with many people working from home. A lot of companies have continued to use VPNs to deal with a hybrid workforce. VPNs were created for one-offs and not for a full workforce that is hybrid. The security risks are too high. We sandbox each user, so we provide a more secure VPN alternative.
Our product is the only one in the market that can deliver apps to a Mac and make them appear as if they are operating natively on the Mac. We do the same with Chromebook. Ultimately, an intuitive user experience means a lot fewer support calls. So while we lower the costs for infrastructure and licensing, we also lower the customer’s internal support costs by making things so easy for the user that the number of calls will be reduced. Our Linux based platform is also unique. So, you won’t need Microsoft SQL Server licenses, for example, and really only need the RDS Cals and Windows Server Cals for the Windows Application Server. Everything else is on Linux. Our set-up for multi-tenancy is also the most straightforward on the market. Literally, a click of a button. This is a great feature for MSPs who are offering our product as a DaaS service.
Based on all of the independent reviews on many review sites, we can say that our customers are very satisfied with the product and our support team. We are proud of our very high rankings and will continue to strive to keep customer satisfaction at the forefront. Besides the good reviews, the high renewal rate on our subscriptions is the real measure of satisfaction.
We sell 12, 36 and 60 month subscriptions. Our renewal rate with customers in between 90 to 95%.
We have a knowledge base called “Partner Central” that contains all of our documentation required for our partners to service their customers. We also provide training for admins.
Our support system is a ticketing system that is prioritized based on severity. Our customers are generally very happy with our personalized support. We start with an email reply, but will quickly set up a Zoom call if the issue cannot be resolved in a timely manner.
As a private Canadian company, we do not provide revenue numbers to the public. We have several subsidiaries and some of them are in countries where disclosure of revenue is required. We comply in those jurisdictions and our revenues for those subsidiaries are on the public record in those countries. Our plan is to continue growing our revenue in the very high double digits, percentage-wise, for the foreseeable future.
Of course, everyone is talking about AI now and what it will do for the future of work. As the product that is the interface between employees and their apps, we are certain that AI is going to play a very large role in how our product develops over the next decade.
