Please introduce your product and give a brief about your role within the organization.
I am the founder and CEO of TenantCloud, which is a tool for smaller landlords, which automates accounting, helps list a property, manages online lease signatures, and gives tenants an easy place to pay rent.
What was the objective behind coming up with this software?
I founded the idea on my own problem with managing lots of rentals in many states and cities. I wanted software that was easy for tenants to pay rent and submit maintenance requests and then made both of those tasks easy on my side, but automatically input the rent payments into the IRS schedule-E accounting and find me local service providers to do the maintenance.
How is your software beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other software alternatives available in the market?
Competitive solutions to TenantCloud charge on a per rental basis with a minimum fee. If you have one rental then they are expensive and if you grow your business then your bill just grows with it. TenantCloud has a free version for the smaller landlords and then each plan is based on your functionality and the number of rental units is unlimited. The value is that TenantCloud has multiple solutions all built into one easy-to-use answer. Landlords and property managers alike can save on costs while also growing their business from feature-rich efficiency.
What industries do you generally cater to? Which industries in general are highly benefiting by using your software?
TenantCloud's main industry is the DIY landlord rental accounting software, but we also find property managers using us as their main property management software.
What are the key features of your software that makes it stand apart from your competitor products in the market?
TenantCloud provides a unique service that automates the accounting from rent payments, and has additional services like Rentler and CollegePads for providing lead generation for vacant rentals which all go directly into the CRM tool that allows landlords to text with leads directed from their TenantCloud account.
What is the customer satisfaction rate according to you? What steps do you take to cater to your customer’s needs and requirements?
The company was built around customers and still operates that way today. Our head of product oversees the customer service so we can be directly influenced by the customers as to what is working and what needs improvements.
Are your customers repetitive? If yes, what is the percentage of repeat customers that you have?
TenantCloud customers don’t have to subscribe to a monthly plan, but many do and of those 80% are still subscribed after 12 months. Of the 20% that unsubscribe 80% of them maintain a free account for doing their accounting and tenant leads.
Does your software product provide any resource or knowledge section for its users? If yes, what kind of material is provided to your users to help them get acquainted with your product?
Every customer has different needs and thus different questions. We provide both a FAQ section that allows all users to search or sort for a possible pre answered question or we have live chat that can also assist. In addition, users can submit a support ticket for help or a demo and even join the many webinars hosted each week.
What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?
A customer can send a support ticket at any time and have access to a quick report button in every account, so contacting support faster. All support team members see all tickets just so all can help in understanding the issue and quickly solve any issues or questions that arise.
What has been the revenue for your product for 2021?
In 2021 our revenue was around $15 million.
Where do you see your product in the next 10 years?
In the next 10 years we plan to be helping landlords finance, insurance, find and buy rentals, while still providing the normal management services we do now.
