Challenge

Wyze offers smart home cameras and devices packed with features at a price that is accessible for all. They needed to improve their customers' eCommerce experience. Their goal was to become the world’s “most customer-centric smart home technology company,” and to disrupt a multi-billion dollar industry. More products quickly followed: a Wyze smart plug, Wyze home security sensors, Wyze light bulbs, and a Wyze smart lock. Sales skyrocketed. So did their traffic.

Solution

Website performance: Atwix was able to prove that its website could handle well over 850 orders a minute and 50,000 visitors an hour - all without any downtime or noticeable performance hits. Mobile: Wyze's mobile app store also runs on Magento / Adobe Commerce Cloud through APIs to create a seamless order experience for both customers and business operations. Warehousing and logistics: Wyze wanted to expand the number of its warehouses. The flexibility of the eCommerce solution supported complex business rules and routing.v

Results

The new Wyze webshop went live the day before the launch of the company’s newest smart gadget, a voice-activated power outlet named the Wyze Plug. The site was humming nicely and on launch day, easily serviced 70,000 visitors. New Relic and Google data showed consistently fast site speeds and pages that loaded without slowed connections or errors. There were no trickle-down payment delays and very few support tickets. Wyze customers were checking out in their thousands, and Wyze cameras and plugs were flying off the digital shelves. And there were no headaches for Potgieter.

Challenge

Black Friday is a critical period for any online business. In 2018, frenzied holiday shoppers broke all records by spending $6.22 billion in online sales, creating traffic that pushed some online stores to breaking point. Just ask Coyuchi, a San Francisco-based home textile company that is committed to making environmentally-friendly home goods. On previous Black Fridays, Coyuchi has offered up to 40 percent off the price of pure organic cotton bed sheets, creating a stampede among their eco-loving customers.

Solution

First, Atwix delivered a detailed performance audit. Like a mechanic peering under the hood of a car, we immediately identified the issues slowing down page load speeds and impacting the website’s reliability. Then we implemented various solutions. We added a new cron job (a time-based job scheduler) to clean the log table, which was too heavy; we enabled JS bundling and HTML minimization; added a cache warmer; optimized Coyuchi’s images, and implemented a weekly relic review. Finally, we fixed the store’s Varnish configurations, reducing page load times from 600-700 milliseconds to just 180-200 milliseconds. In case you’re wondering, Coyuchi’s pages now load faster than a blink of an eye.

Results

With a refactored legacy code and a redesign of several key pages, the Coyuchi webstore was soon running faster than ever. It was ready for anything. Black Friday 2018 was the real test for the updated system, and Coyuchi handled it effortlessly. During the sales season, the website suffered no performance issues under especially high loads, and the new features helped to display more relevant products to customers, creating record holiday sales revenue. The new, seamless Coyuchi customer experience delivered fantastic results: Mobile revenue increased by 50 percent; desktop conversion rose by 29 percent; and bounce rate dropped by an impressive 27 percent.

Challenge

Byrne was frustrated with their aged and limited technology, and they had a vision for a dedicated and exclusive portal for B2B clients. This partner portal needed to operate separately from Byrne’s main website but mirror the user experience. It was important to ensure the smooth interconnection with the third party ERP system and seamless order management flow, as well as stay within the company’s brand guidelines. It would need to be able to support their product complexity and customization as well as part number lookup. They wanted it to feel tailored to their B2B customers who have unique needs like wanting to ship from their own accounts and being able to have a credit line.

Solution

The team focused on a “lowercase mvp” approach, a term that was coined by George Fabis, the Director of IT at Byrne. The project had an MVP that would take 12-16 weeks to complete, however, they were able to identify the most important items that were critical to launch and could be implemented in 8 weeks. These were the “lowercase mvp” priorities that would allow for seamless launch. Atwix hit the ground running. Infor SyteLine’s end-to-end ERP solution was implemented in advance of the eCommerce project. At the same time, Atwix worked on Magento theme development (based on Luma theme), keeping its reliability without sacrificing the client’s style guide, displaying our strong in-house design team.

Results

IT transformation is ongoing. For Byrne, once the B2B platform launched, beyond customer satisfaction, employee production and satisfaction continued to improve. Order taking and confirmations, for example, once dependent on manual workflow is now highly automated. This allows the same resources to refocus efforts on outbound sales and marketing campaigns. Results are seen up and down the supply chain.

Manufacturing

Challenge

Cabinets.com faced many challenges: They needed to help customers find their dream cabinets, and order them in just the right size to fit their kitchen, first time. To meet their customers’ rising expectations, Cabinets.com needed a dynamic eCommerce partner.

Solution

Atwix was hard at work upgrading the Cabinets.com website to Magento Commerce 1. Our custom solutions and continued support teams performed an implementation that delivered phenomenal growth: Inc. magazine included Cabinets.com on their list of America’s fastest-growing private companies – the ‘Inc. 500’ – for two consecutive years. And Cabinets.com was hungry for more. “We were born on Magento and we grew together over the years,” said Benjamin Gordon, CTO of Cabinets.com. “We had such tremendous growth and we wanted to keep going.”

Results

Finally, Atwix designed a 100 percent custom gallery module, which allows customers to browse completed projects and find inspiration for their dream kitchen. It looks amazing on both desktop and mobile.

Challenge

HYPERVSN needed to move quickly to grow their business internationally. They needed to rebuild their online platform to support promotion and direct distribution. They also had an idea for an original marketplace to allow anyone to create custom holographic visuals for the modules. When HYPERVSN needed a cutting-edge solution partner with experience in collaborative digital marketplaces, they called on Atwix.

Solution

The HYPERVSN project is still active, and our team at Atwix is in the middle of an exciting journey. The final marketplace solution is the ace card up the sleeve, for a company who hopes to engage creatives to produce their own branded floating images. By building an entire community around the product, the company plans to maximize engagement, and make HYPERVSN a household name. At the time of publication, the overhauled site design and the Magento storefront is being tested in a real-time scenario.

Results

The HYPERVSN website project was designed to increase brand recognition, and to collect initial prospects who want to acquire or lease HYPERVSN products. Soon, the new web store functionality will be unleashed, powered by Magento Commerce, and it will accelerate business growth, globally.

Challenge

To strengthen their position as a major partner to eCommerce companies, DPD needed to become part of the online shopping ecosystem. But in 2017, the biggest eCommerce platform in the world, Magento Commerce, did not offer native DPD functionality. For the hundreds of thousands of companies running on Magento, their customers could only choose from DPD’s rivals, like DHL and PostNL.

Solution

A key challenge was connecting the information from DPD web-services to Magento, including parcel tracking, shipment processing, invoices, delivery – and turning all this into tools on the Magento dashboard. Initially, Magento just didn’t have the native functionality to make this work. So Atwix developed custom extensions for Magento Commerce 1 and 2 that integrates DPD services on the platform; we also developed a Core Library to connect the information to Magento.

Results

Atwix knew that an integration between this European shipping giant and the world’s biggest eCommerce platform would yield a win-win-win scenario: By easily integrating DPD into their native order processing workflow, Magento merchants can offer their customers more competitive shipping options, reducing the risk of cart abandonment, and improving conversion rates.
