Challenge:
Our client frequently encountered errors in the names and addresses of partner companies in their documentation. Manually correcting these inaccuracies required substantial time and resources.

Solution:
We developed an automated script that integrates with Google Sheets to validate and correct data. Leveraging the Google Places API and Google Search via Puppeteer, the system cross-checks information, detects inconsistencies, and applies corrections. As a result, only 4.8% of 2,700 records required manual review.

Validation Process:
The script follows a multi-step verification approach, handling various scenarios:

• Not a Company: If the system identifies a freelancer instead of a company, it skips name and website validation.
• Data Match: If the name, address, and website in the spreadsheet match API results, the data remains unchanged.
• Name Discrepancy: If the detected name differs, the script verifies the website and address before updating the name if a match is found.
• Address Error: After thorough validation, the system corrects any address inconsistencies.
• Multiple Companies at One Address: If multiple businesses are found at the same location, the script analyzes and updates the records as needed.

Results:
This automated solution significantly streamlined the data validation process, ensuring high accuracy while minimizing the need for manual intervention.
