Working with BlackDot has been a seamless experience with consistent support at every stage.

From the outset, the process was highly collaborative and iterative. We were not simply handed a finished product — we were actively engaged in shaping it. Their team took the time to understand how we operate as a registered charity administering Donor-Advised Funds, the compliance considerations unique to our structure, and the practical needs of both donors and advisors. As we refined the charity research tool, expanded data fields, replicated and improved our document repository, and later introduced the Philanthropic Planning Report with complex calculations and historical data imports, they approached each phase with patience and technical precision. Feedback was welcomed, revisions were implemented quickly, and solutions were thoughtfully explained so we could make informed decisions. The end result is a modern, stable, and scalable portal that has strengthened our donor experience and positioned us well for future growth.

Describe your project in brief

We are a registered charity that administers Donor-Advised Funds. Our previous portal had been built on plug-ins that had become antiquated, and we knew it was time for a comprehensive redevelopment. We also wanted to significantly enhance our charity research tool, enabling donors to easily search and select from approximately 84,000 registered Canadian charities, with robust data points and a fully integrated document repository.

Jani and Egils have been exceptional to work with. They not only rebuilt and modernized our portal, but also helped us expand its functionality. Following the redevelopment, we introduced a sophisticated Philanthropic Planning Report that required complex calculations and the integration of historical data from multiple disparate sources.
