In the mid-1980s, Julie Silver Talenfeld was fresh out of the University of Florida, and well on her way to a successful career in news. She began as a news reporter at a leading South Florida radio station, then went on to become a producer of a radio stock market report with a major regional securities brokerage and finally as the creator and owner of a statewide syndicated radio business news report. But after only a few years in the business, she realized she liked the idea of telling people’s stories rather than reporting on them.
