LockGuard is a smart lock application that is a product of an innovative design that is perfect for security and access management at home and other places. It is the leading home door smart lock app used by many businesses as well as residential sectors to fulfill both security and convenience.

This is the most technologically advanced practice as users can control who can go in and out just with a smartphone, thus eliminating what has been bothering them about carrying the keys.As the lock gets used frequently every time the user goes out and in, the client wanted to store every entry of the user in cloud for the security purposes. Plus he also wanted to implement some advanced features like temporary guest access, less power consumption, and more.

Challenges:

The challenge with this smart lock app was, that it was getting hanged due to limited memory. Plus users noticed more power consumption due to active use of the home lock app. This needed a secure database and cloud storage to store the users going in and out with date and time.
Generating a temporary access code in the home lock app was a real task for our team but with our passion and experience, we made that possible.

Solution:

Our research team begins with an in-depth analysis first and looks at the competitors and what they have implemented for robust security and other advanced features. Based on our analysis report, we suggested client about the performance improvement and how we can make the home lock app more useful.

For storage, we used a hybrid cloud and on-device storage solution that can be scaled as the requirement grows in the future.
For extra strong security,  we integrated BLE technology to ensure that the smart lock works seamlessly with smartphones, even offline.
We added multiple access options in the home lock app, i.e. offline by using Bluetooth within a certain distance range to prevent high-power consumption.
For businesses like Airbnb and others, we added some guest-friendly features like hosts can share unique access codes with guests, which automatically expire after the stay.

Result:

After the above implementation, the lock guard app found high adoption rates and an increased number of downloads within the first 3 months. 80% of users reviewed a smoother experience.
