Essential Code is a senior-only micro agency based in Vienna, founded by David Wippel. We move companies off legacy CMS platforms like WordPress, Drupal, TYPO3, and Sitecore, and we stay responsible for the new system after launch.

Most agencies disappear once the website goes live. That handover moment is also the moment when things start to decay. Performance drops, content workflows get messy, plugins break, and small issues pile up because nobody really owns the system anymore. We work differently. Every migration we do establishes a setup that we keep stable, performant, and maintainable for years.

Our clients are typically marketing teams at European scale-ups and established SMBs with 50 to 200 employees. They run multilingual sites across multiple markets, and they need a system their team can actually use without constantly waiting on developers. We build with Storyblok, DatoCMS, Next.js, and Astro, hosted entirely in the EU.
We are deliberately small. No project managers, no account leads, no junior staff. You work directly with the people building your system.
