Medical Management Service of Nashville, Inc. (MMS) was started in 1974 by our founder, Bill Copeland. During our humble beginnings, Bill was a full time administrator to the largest internal medical group in the state, Frist-Scoville Medical Group, which was founded by Thomas Frist, Sr. who was also the co-founder of Hospital Corporation of America, now Columbia/HCA.

With the practice from its beginnings in 1974, Louise Moore quickly became co-owner with Bill only six years later. Louise, with her expertise in practice management, accounts receivables, physician mergers and accounting and Bill, with his proficiency in administration, complimented each other with their capacious knowledge and made a great team.Faced with the opportunity to learn in the shadows of two great business leaders, Louise’s son David Moore began working at MMS while still in high school. Over the years, he was able to work his way through every aspect of the business. Louise was able to tutor him in the fundamentals of medical billing and practice management at every level. He also spent several years working under the supervision of Bill Copeland in the areas of medical property management.Louise and Bill were best friends and co-owners of the company until Bill passed away in 2005 of pancreatic cancer. Louise continued on as President with David stepping into the role of CEO and managing day to day operations. At Louise’s death from cancer in 2010, David had been well prepared by his mentors to take the lead at MMS.
