Hello. I am Sergey Konovalov, the CEO of Mobio Group.

Mobio Group is an international growth marketing agency specializing in the promotion of mobile applications worldwide. We are headquartered in the United Kingdom and have offices in Silicon Valley (USA) and Europe. For over 10 years, Mobio Group has been helping startups and large companies in various industries increase revenue and conversion in mobile applications through 5 key services: User Acquisition, Mobile Retargeting, In-App Advertising, ASO, and Growth Marketing.

As the CEO, I oversee the strategic directions of the company, ensuring its growth, product development, and maximum customer satisfaction. My goal is to create an inspiring environment for our team where we can reach new heights and continue to lead in the mobile marketing industry.
What is the story behind starting this company?
The history of Mobio Group began with the desire to create something meaningful and innovative in mobile advertising. I was inspired to embark on this journey through my many years of experience and knowledge in digital advertising, which has accumulated over my 21-year career. Mobio Group was not my first venture into entrepreneurship — during that time, I had successfully launched and developed at least 5 businesses: a web studio, a payment system, equipment imports from China, and startup ventures in the wishlist service and advertising platform. All of these experiences were valuable lessons for me.

In 2013, together with a partner, we decided to create Mobio Group with a clear goal of providing innovative solutions in mobile advertising. We underwent transformations, adaptations, and internal changes, but thanks to our readiness for growth and adaptation, the company became successful and resilient globally.

Since 2020 Mobio Global has been a subsidiary of Vox Valor Capital Limited, a London-based technology group that focuses on acquiring and growing companies that are active in the digital marketing and advertising technology or digital/mobile content sector.

On the 31 of October 2022, Vox Valor Capital Limited completed a reverse take-over and as a result became a publicly listed company on the standard list segment of the London Stock Exchange.
What are your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
The business model of Mobio Group is built upon its in-house team of 100+ highly skilled specialists in mobile app marketing. I believe that only a strong internal team can ensure a high level of quality and effectiveness in our services. Currently, our agency employs over 80+ experienced professionals, including growth marketing experts, performance managers, ASO specialists, designers, analysts, and more, all of whom are highly qualified in mobile marketing.

Having a robust in-house team allows us to maintain a high level of control over processes and quality while also enabling us to react promptly to market changes and demands. It's worth mentioning that we currently operate in a "remote-friendly" format, with optimized processes thanks to top-notch software, allowing our employees to work efficiently regardless of their location. However, we do have offices in Silicon Valley, the United Kingdom, and Europe, so each team member has the option to work from an office in a location convenient for them. This format provides us with flexibility and the ability to attract talent from different countries.

How does your company differentiate itself from the competition?
Mobio Group stands out from competitors in several key aspects. We employ a comprehensive approach to promote our client's mobile products, working within the HADI cycle: we Analyze, Plan, Implement, Measure, Analyze again, and Repeat the cycle. This approach allows us not only to operate with data but also to implement iterative solutions for continuous performance improvement and achieving our goals. We don't aim to increase product revenue solely by user acquisition. Our approach allows us to influence the product and user activation funnel, which provides more scalability opportunities and leads to higher revenue even from organic traffic. Our strategy is more comprehensive, focusing on the growth of various metrics related to both User Acquisition and the product itself. We are always ready to take on deeper product work, including improving activation, conversion, retention, and customer lifetime value. This is a long-term and in-depth strategy that delivers more significant value than isolated work on advertising campaigns.

Therefore, when we develop a product work plan, it encompasses not only User Acquisition but also product changes, as well as factors such as ASO, hypothesis testing, seasonality, and the market situation.

The payment structure depends directly on the specific terms of cooperation and the type of services provided. We adhere to a flexible approach to align with the needs and expectations of each client.

For instance, if it's a commission-based arrangement, payment may be invoiced at the end of the month in accordance with the contract terms. In the case of consulting services, we issue an invoice after the service has been provided, taking into account the fixed cost. It all depends on the individual case.

We work with clients at three primary stages of development:

Main Goal: Return users who are no longer active in the game.

Solutions:

  • Audience segmentation

Paying users are users who often make in-game purchases, but in the last week did not buy anything. Level 9 players - players who have reached level 9 in the game, but have not made a single payment. It was important to encourage them to make their first purchase.

  • Testing: sources, creatives

The campaign was launched in relevant sources for this task – DSP and Facebook. The DSP allows you to find users in other applications, including other games.

  • Setting up Deeplinks

On the technical side, the introduction of deeplinks technology was needed to direct the user immediately to the desired screen within the app. In this case, the user went to the screen of the promotion, which is available only by deeplink. Thus the value of retargeting for users increased - players could see a unique promotion that was not present in the game's offer system.

Results: 

  • By the end of the campaign, the client's ROAS exceeded 204% cumulatively on both platforms with an average conversion from retargeting to purchase - 25%.
  • Test results on Android showed which GEOs were the most profitable.

The top 10 countries with the highest rates tested were bundles (geo plus creative). The most effective ones were launched on iOS. In parallel, the test bundles were used on different sources. This allowed the campaign to scale and increase the number of daily purchases.

We accessed an audience of relevant bloggers, applied geo-targeting, and launched an advertising campaign. In the second phase, we launched banners for users who watched 50% or more of the video. As a result, the CPI went down by 40% with a 7-fold increase in CTR. In the third step, we expanded our reach even further. After that, the cost to install the app dropped by a factor of four, which was the lowest cost to install with a quality audience.

We were looking for a company that could promote our delivery app. We had a really hard KPI and special target audience so we needed a professional agency for effective ad campaigns.
Firstly, Mobio conducted market research using the Sensor Tower, in order to understand the market well. Then the initial tests were launched. Together with us, Mobio tested various approaches in creatives and targeting that were basic for the theme. They also launched Web2App tests. This made it possible to bypass SKAD restrictions when running FB on iOS.
By the right targeting, messaging and catchy creatives the conversion increased and CAC decreased by 20%. As a result, the volume increased by ~ 700%.
We had a rather hard goal to achieve, and we were surprised how easily the Mobio team handled the task.

The launch of an advertising campaign for contextual queries helped to reduce CPA and achieve the planned KPI. We needed a company that could promote our mobile app. Our main goals were to acquire more relevant users for our app and find alternative sources for that instead of classic ones.
First, we went through the tests phase. It was decided to try to acquire new traffic through a special platform. The breakdowns by age group were tested there, which made it possible to identify segments with the most effective CPA. They tested several audience segments for contextual queries. The division of search phrases into segments made it possible to better manage the distribution of the budget between campaigns and monitor CPA. Brand and competitive queries showed good dynamics – CPA was 47% lower. The monthly budget for the channel was constantly growing, scaling took place in a short time, so the average CPA increased, but remained within the established KPI.

One of the main tasks of promotion was to motivate and encourage users who installed the application, but used it only once or never at all, to place an order.
