What is the story behind starting this company?
Moonmana was founded in 2008 by two young and devoted people passionate about games - Artyom Shpytiak and me, Iana Tkachenko.  It was a dream come true. As in perfect synergy, we combined our efforts, experience, and knowledge and built a successful company that has been developing high-quality games for more than 14 years.

By the time Artyom decided to establish Moonmana, he had been an experienced software developer, but game development was his true passion. So he started his journey as an indie developer creating games on his own and then founded a company that is still growing. Moonmana’s first successful game was our own IP Pirates of Everseas which earned $2 million. That was the turning point for the company.

Artyom is in charge of the company’s strategy and production departments, while my responsibility is the company's growth and customer success.

Moonmana works according to the business models of outsourcing and outstaffing. 
Outsourcing is a type of game development where a client hires another company for the development of certain tasks or the whole project scope: from planning to development and testing.
 
Outstaffing means hiring experienced professionals to work on the project under management of the client side.

Moonmana has offices in Poland and Spain. Our distributed team works from 7 countries: Spain, Poland, Italy, Cyprus, Turkey, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan. Overall, we have 70+ talented full-time employees.

What is your customer satisfaction rate according to you? What steps do you take to cater to your customer’s needs and requirements?
We are devoted to every project we work on, we go the extra mile to create really great games - with astonishing art, smooth gameplay, and regular updates.

The key to customer satisfaction is a clear understanding of the client's needs. For this, we follow a certain pattern in terms of the working process. Before we start the project, we hold meetings with leads, PMs, and a client to clarify all details and get a complete picture of the project. The next step is forming an estimate with a description of all the stages. Throughout the working process, we also organize daily or weekly meet-ups to obtain and analyze feedback.
What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?
We keep in touch with clients all the time throughout the whole working process. Apart from internal daily and weekly stand-ups, we have regular calls with clients, too. This is necessary for receiving feedback and providing a result that meets all the client's requirements and expectations. We also discuss our customers’ future plans to get ready for their upcoming projects.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions, etc.)
We follow various payment structures so each client can choose the interaction model that suits their needs and requirements best. Pay per Feature, Fixed Price, and Pay per Milestone are all available with us. Sometimes we practice mixing several models - it’s up to the client. We want to be flexible and achieve a mutually beneficial outcome.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
We take in game development projects from $10,000. The cost always depends on several key factors such as the art style, genre, desired features, the number of specialists involved in the project, the customer’s requirements in terms of timing, and so on.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2021?
In 2021 we worked on projects ranging from $10,000 to $500,000.

Review Summary

We hired Moonmana to work on two apps that we didn't have time to. We specified what needed to be done and they did just that. I think overall the process was easy and they were good to deal with. They did what we needed from them and we are happy with the results. Only minor issues, but I guess that comes with hiring outsources, is that nothing beyond was done. There were still some fairly obvious issues, but since it lied outside of their specs they didn't fix that. Take that as a good or bad thing.

Review Summary

We worked together on creating characters, environment and animations in 2020-2021 for a mobile game (under NDA). We saw their portfolio and it perfectly matched our project as we had very specific requirements. We were convinced they would be ideal partners to work with - so we hired them. Some time ago we were looking for a team that will assist us with porting our game from PC to consoles, so we asked Moonmana to help us.

We really enjoyed the way Moonmana team has made this project done: their engineers are fast learners and did their best in order to provide high-quality service.

We were also amazed by the transparent communication - Moonmana corresponded daily about the updates and improvements, so they put client satisfaction at the top of their list.

Moonmana team ported our game in Unity from PC to consoles, ensuring full compliance with PS4, Xbox One, and Switch requirements as well as providing other improvements that helped to level up the game.

Unique brick breaking multiplatform arcade game based on Unity co-development for PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch. An original game made decade ago, the client wanted to remaster it and switch engine from Phyre to Unity.

It’s been a challenge for us to find the right game development studio, as it is quite hard to choose a responsible partner to rely on. We chose Moonmana as they have worked with top-notch gaming companies for many years, and provided a fascinating portfolio.
