YouDo is a popular Services Marketplace with millions of users and an interesting technical challenge: to fully recode mobile apps for iOS and Android. 

Objectives:

-Develop mobile apps from scratch in tandem with the customer's team on a tighter schedule

-Take on board the team's current standards for the technology stack and architecture

-Come on board as quickly as possible for delivering business value

-Provide support for legacy mobile apps

-Design a technically sophisticated product and be willing to make modifications on the fly 

Solutions:

IOS: We developed an app based on VIPER architecture. We implemented the app's design system as an independent framework.

Android: We developed a design system and implemented integration with payment service providers and with GooglePay. 

The project occupies a high position in Russia for the convenience and quality of the app.

Mobile app for the German VW group.

 It was important for the customer:

1. Develop a user-friendly app for VW car owners.
2. Comply with the high technical standards of the customer company during development.
3.  Integrate the mobile app into the client's existing systems.

 The goals were achieved by the following tech stacks:

1. Developed a scalable fault-tolerant architecture in Kubernetes.
2. Implemented a system for monitoring and automatic notification of failures.
3. Delineated independent sub-parts of the system using a microservice architecture (services are implemented on Golang).
4. Minimized dependencies between sub-parts of the system by implementing asynchronous communication using Nats and Nats streaming message queues.
5. Integrated  through Kafka with a separate customer system.
6. Protected the product in front of VW technical specialists.
7. Created a simple and user-friendly interface.

For the German concern we have developed the Skoda App mobile app. The purpose of creating the app is to make Skoda customers more comfortable and attract car owners to service centers.

So, we had to integrate the application into the customer's existing systems, adhering to the company's internal standards and high technical requirements.

To solve these problems and implement the project, we carried out the following steps:

1.Analyzed the business requirements and built the architecture of the solution.

2.Develop native apps on Swift and Kotlin

3.Microservice architecture, CQRS-backend implementation on Golang

4.Deploying a Kubernetes cluster

5.Full automation of the product testing and release process (continuous delivery/continuous integration)

6.Automated processes for building and laying out applications using Fastlane

Audi Service is a convenient and useful tool for Audi car owners.The app allows to make an appointment for car repairs, monitor the status of the order and coordinate changes,call a tow truck,find a dealership,be aware of events about new products and about the company's promotions,receive round-the-clock assistance on the road. We were faced with the following tasks:

• Optimization of services: security, support of current business processes.
• Develop a mobile application in accordance with the guidelines, while maintaining the product structure and user audience.
• Ensure uninterrupted delivery of releases in accordance with the methodology.

We used the following technology stack:

• Developed native apps on Swift and Kotlin
• Microservice architecture CQRS
• Golang
• Kubernetes Cluster

As a result, we have developed a mobile application for iOS and Аndroid. The app is used by tens of thousands of users. The client received a ready-made business product.

About project: Delivery food service with following key advantages: Unified menu: restaurants bid their prices and delivery time Client chooses a restaurant basing on cost and delivery time it bids Time of delivery is fixed, in case there is a delay client gets food at discount automatically. Our tasks: Develop the first version of this app in extremely short terms Collaborate with client on product development Develop clear UX/UI Work results: 5 weeks from project’s start to its launch on AppStore. Product’s impact and story maps created in 3 days. UX designed in 2 days. In 4 weeks app is developed and launched on AppStore. Orders and restaurants managing system is programmed within the same period of time. App processed dozens of orders per day within first two months upon its launch, hundreds in rush hours Android version was launched in 5 months after product hypothesis has been verified on iOS

Client's task was to develop online system to process visa to Russian Federation.

We implemented online solution, that lets anyone get visa to Russian Federation in couple of clicks.

About project

Dodo Pizza is an IT company where pizza franchise is fully automated. Mobile apps development became one of the most awaited event for the company and its franchises in 2017.

Our client set an ambitious task for us - it was to create the best pizza order apps in the world.

Our task

• Develop mobile apps in collaboration with client’s team. We are providing all the knowledge and experience needed to create the apps. Client consults us on the product, API in Dodo IS and design.

• Provide high technical level of product, be ready for quick changes and experiments.

• Make apps architecture ready for scaling in other countries, where business processes may differ notably.

Our results

• Project’s indicators such as audience reach and orders rate exceeded expectations almost twice.

• iOS app came in first place in “Food and beverages” chart on AppStore within the first week after its release.

• Apps got more than 5000 positive review in stores within the first two months.

• Apps reached around 99-100% in Crash-Free Sessions.

Cross-platform B2B SaaS solution for pre-selecting job applications.

Around 100,000 video interviews have been recorded. The service is used by large corporate clients: Beeline, MARS, IBS, Innova and several dozen others.

VCV is a chargeable SaaS solution for corporate clients

The video interviews allow companies to eliminate 20 to 60% of unsuitable applications, which saves HR managers a significant amount of time.

After the preliminary screenings, the applicants are graded using a customizable system. The system lets your entire team work on the applications.

• Triple full-concept change: it started as a resume database with video and became a SaaS solution with video interviews

Our team has created a solution based on VoxImplant service that has been integrated into client's system and allowed to conduct interviews by phone in real time. The main advantage of this solution is possibility to create complex interview scripts, react on answers that are being received during interview and recognize interviewee's speech.

All car services in one application

Project’s aim is to help drivers resolve all possible issues with car operation.

Our tasks were

• To develop native applications for iOS and Android based on layouts and API specification provided by client,

• To complete UX/UI design of services,

• To create a web-based solution for actual service providers in order to let them process orders using AvtoApp platform and integration with their internal CRM systems.

The application allows to:

• order and pay for various car goods and services,

• save up to 30% on fuel. We’ve developed promotions and discounts calculator that allows to search lowest petrol pumps’ prices,

• save time on searching for services’ providers and implementers,

• make an appointment for car wash or call evacuator using just the app,

• see reviews on service providers and choose the most reliable ones,

• and much more...

Challenges

• Join client’s ongoing work quickly and become part of existing team. Team already had server developers, QA, marketer, product owner, analyst/PM.

Live streaming app for charity fundraising

Live video streaming of interesting people and events made to draw attention to humanity causes  

About project

Californian startup GoWatchMe literally “Makes the world a better place”. Project’s main idea is to draw attention to humanity issues with live streaming of interesting events by interesting people who care. Famous people do something remarkable and broadcast it live to collect donations that will be then transferred to a charity.

Results of our work

• Project was completed in 2.5 months. Initial backlog estimate given by the team was 2-3 months.

• Development process based on SCRUM methodology allowed client to be included into the product development and communication with the team as much as possible.

• Project has been developed without terms of reference, basing on fixed budget and time. Requirements were formed together with client by rolling wave method.

• Development on Node.JS allowed to meet almost all the scaling and load requirements out-of-the-box.

• We came to understanding that there are no free solutions for live mobile streaming on the market and chargeable ones are really costly. Our team created a version of live streaming library for new Swift with help of international community.

We've developed platform for Data Science Contest organized by Sberbank, Russia's largest bank.
This contest had the largest number of contestants ever recorded for such an event in Russia - the previous one was held by Avito event based on Kaggle platform and that result is now doubled.

Platform had to bear quite high load: it would reach around 50 requests per second, 80 on base, contestants generated several dozens of GB of content. And all this worked without a single crash on quite an average AWS server. The platform on Node.js has handled all requests really quickly: almost all of them in less than 0.2s, with ~5K TCP-sessions taking place simultaneously.

Original estimate for the project was three months, however we've managed to develop it within one month.
