Please introduce your company and give a brief about your role within the organization.
Right Balance is a top-quality software consultancy for venture startups. I’m Alex Tamoykin, Founder and CEO of Right Balance.
What is the story behind starting this company?
After more than a decade of working in the industry, I noticed a huge gap between companies needing quality talent and the lack of such talent on the market. In most of the teams I was on, it’s really 20% of really good engineers that do 80% of the work. That’s why I started Right Balance. I put together a strong team of high-performing software engineers and focused on writing quality software to help companies grow and scale.
What is your company’s business model? Is it in-house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
Our primary model is staff augmentation. We smoothly on board with your team using your existing tools and process hitting the ground running from day one. We believe in working together to achieve great results.
How does your company differentiate itself from the competition?
Finding and growing quality talent is very hard. Not many companies do it right and the quality is a hit and miss. Located in California at the heart of the world’s technology innovation, we constantly challenge the status quo and keep the bar high.
What industries do you generally cater to? What’s the distribution between the new and the repeat customers?
We cover many industries starting from FinTech, Developer Tools, Entertainment, Social, and more. Most of our clients are repeat customers who stay with us for years.
Please share some of the services that you offer for which clients approach you the most for?
It depends on the client’s needs. We do a lot of Serverless development, Backend API development, Automated Testing, Infrastructure as Code (IAC), CI/CD pipelines, as well as modern Client-Side Development for web, mobile, and IoT.
What is your customer satisfaction rate? What steps do you take to cater to your customer’s needs and requirements?
Our engagements are very long in nature. We form long-lasting partnerships with our clients keeping customer satisfaction high. It all comes from our business model. We win when our customers win.
What kind of support system do you offer to your clients for catering to their queries and issues?
Our engineers are working tightly with the clients every day using a robust project management process. Every client is different, so we use the client’s tracking system like Jira to track issues and plan the sprints. Each customer also has a dedicated account manager available at any time to solve issues as they arise.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
We typically charge per hour working in close collaboration on the scope for each milestone. Our top priority is to help companies stay within the budget and get the most out of it.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
We generally take on projects starting at $25,000. Most of our projects are continuous long-term staff augmentation engagements that last years.
Where do you see your company in the next 10 years?
We’re growing sustainably staying true to our core values and culture. In 10 years we’ll be in multiple markets worldwide helping companies with our services and products. We believe in entrepreneurship fueling the economy of any country and we’re here to help companies grow.

By the latest cloud technologies like AWS Lambda, SQS, and Cassandra the team was able to implement a robust solution utilizing post-install events at scale.

The same set of technologies was used to prevent fraud by implementing the next version of the identity management solution for Tala. Which enabled new users to more seamlessly sign up for the app while decreasing customer support tickets related to device issues by 91%.
