Uran Company is a full stack development agency providing tailored web and software solutions for businesses. As CEO, I manage generic, financial, legal and other issues essential for company operation.
What was the idea behind starting this organization?
It was 12 years ago. Each of the co-founders wanted to realize their potential, and more importantly, invest their experience, gained in an enterprise sector, in their own business.
What is your company’s business model–in house team or third party vendors/ outsourcing?
Only in-house team, all our team members are our employees.
How is your business model beneficial from a value addition perspective to the clients compared to other companies' models?
The benefit of our business model is that we take responsibility and guarantee that the project will be delivered no matter what. We provide a project manager for every project, and if any employee gets sick or leaves the company, this is not a problem for our client because our project manager replaces the developer and work continues.
What industries do you generally cater to? Are your customers repetitive?
Mostly, our clients are businesses and startups who need a partner to take on their IT development processes. Some of the industries are, not limited to: Retail and Wholesale, Travel, Sport, Restaurants, Entertainment, Social.
Yes, our customers are repetitive, some of them are with us for 3 to 8 years. Startups, after successful MVP delivery, get back to us when it comes to product development.

The more detailed specifications we have, the more accurate time frame we can define. Critical parameters are the scope of functionality and design requirements or mockups.
How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of a web app?
Such questions are not easy to answer because everything depends on the goals and requirements of a client. We prefer to work on at least 2-3 months long projects and longer. We like to establish a long lasting relationship with clients. These are projects where we really can help the client to solve the tasks by delving into their business processes, offering not only developers’ work but exactly the solution and get rid of “the pain.” These are projects that we have been supporting and expanding for ten years.
What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for a web application?
Key parameters are possible scalability, time for development, the complexity of development, reliability, matching parameters in the industry, support of the community, and so on. Our business analytics would share the details with those interested.
Which platform and technologies do you prefer to use in development of your web apps?
When working on Front-end, or client side, we use JavaScript, for example, such front-end Frameworks as Angular and React; and of course Bootstrap as the framework for HTML and CSS. For Back-end, or server side, we use such popular technology stack as LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP); MEAN MongoDB, Express.js, AngularJS, Node.js; MERN (MongoDB, Express, React/Redux, and Node.js)
Do you offer website design templates or customised website design, and do you have a responsive website design?
We offer customized website design. Yes, we have responsive web design, it’s crucial in our era of mobile users. If an app is not responsive, it’s hardly alive.
Which Content Management System do you prefer to use (Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal etc)?
We offer a CMS depending on the needs of the customer. Every business is unique, and requirements of the customer about the website are crucial in the selection of the CMS. However, if conditions are demanding and the site should be customized, we offer custom development.
Do you provide website maintenance services?
Sure thing, we provide support and maintenance of the products we deliver.
What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a web application?
Our lead developers, functioning as business-analytics, study the clients’ requirements for the app and think of an optimum architecture. After that comes the understanding of what technologies suits the architecture. Then they decide who from the team will participate in the development and how much hours will be spent on the project completion and testing, and whether to host on the clients’ server or in the cloud, associated expenses, and so on. This time multiplied with the rate will be the cost of a web application. The more detailed requirements and wishes are, the more accurate estimation we can provide to the customer.
What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, Pay per Milestone (could be in phases, months, versions etc.)
We use three models of cooperation: Fixed Price, Time & Material, Personnel Leasing.
The appropriate model is defined together with the client depending on the project background, features and requirement. Mostly, we use Time & Material or Personnel Leasing models. We follow no prepayment and 2-week payment policy, which can be extended to 1-month with long-term clients.
Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?
As stated above, we prefer long lasting relationship – from 3 months and more. Usually, the budget for such project starts from $25 000.
What is the price range (min and max) of the projects that you catered to in 2018?
Average price range is $25 000 - $50 000.
