Of course, as it stands for most online projects, all the technical, social and administrative tasks led to one main issue – marketing. As a small and ambitious (and then inexperienced) team, they knew that they needed to focus their efforts on effective search engine optimization and online marketing. They looked at hiring SEO agencies, wasted thousands of dollars, and in the end did not receive the results they wanted ranking wise. After tens of thousands of dollars down the drain, they had no funds and no choice but to learn how to optimize their website for search engines… all on their own.
